Rink Rat Company
I don't know if anyone has had this happen with the Company, but I have had some issues with Rink Rat for a while. I just have been biting my tongue for a few months to see if anything would get done. My story goes like this. I am the representative ( big title, not that glamorous)for Tour Growl/ Scrappers Piha teams. I put in an order for the wheels to supply both teams wheels if need be. First off, I have been satisfied with Mike ( rink rat east rep) who has helped me out by clearing up some of the confusion I encountered. I put in the order for wheels May 23rd, or around the end of may. Simple stuff, gave my credit card to Mike, and figured I would be billed the correct amount. I got my 6 pairs of 72mm wheels in the mail in the middle of June. Not a bad turnaround time, but the problem is that I needed the 80mm wheels as well ( hi-lo). Anyone who knows Mike, knows he is busy as heck and is tough to track down by phone or email. Eventually, the 80's were sent to me. You would like to believe this was the only problem that happened with me. Well, I called up my credit card company, and to my dismay, was billed not just once, but twice. I mean, for anyone who is making a decent salary, 600 dollars is not a lot of money. But for me, an entry level right out of college job is a nice chunk of change to owe. I know they had gotten the first 300 dollars June 6th, but I had to get the credit card company to reverse the 300 dollars billed to me on June 17th. Unfortunately, I had to be called numerous times on my cell phone, like I was some dirtbag who can't pay off his bills. I had told them one time, that I had spoken to Mike, and they had already gotten their money. Apparently, that was not good enough, because I was bothered when I was in Detroit last week as well. It has just been a frustrating experience from my point of view, and it is just ashame that Mike ( who has done a great job over there) has to be associated with the company when stuff goes wrong. This is sort of an editorial, so if you are ordering stuff in the future for a team or yourself, make sure you keep an eye out to see how much you are getting billed. Aside from all of this, the wheels are still the best in the market right now. I am sure this is not the typical story you will hear from a rink rat customer, but I just felt like venting to a forum where i would actually be heard ( and not have my calls be avoided). Please feel free to comment on this story and thanks for listening.
