Pulling the trigger
I think I am narrowing my search - because I am just playing once a week, in a parking lot, for fun, I don't think I can justify the top of the line. I am not at a level where top of the line will elevate me to the next level - I need more practice than equipment. By the same token, I want to improve and I don't want skates that hold me back. I am hoping to try on a tour G60 and a Mission D3, and maybe the G80 (although the sensor sounds great I am somewhat concerned about wheel availability) and the D2, and go by what feels best. Am I on track? (Yes, I called Hockey Giant and asked about the Big Daddys/Stubbies! I was concerned about the width, and the guy tried to steer me to the Nexed Vital Atoms, said it was a better skate in that price range. I said I didn't really want to get involved with the 2 degree thing, he didn't know what I was talking about . . . kind of turned me off. Now that I have my tax relief check burning a hole in my pocket I am raising my sights slightly.)
My current skates are falling apart, but are there any significant savings if I can hold out for a few months? That is, do rollers get cheaper when ice starts, or when the 2004s come out (when?)? Thanks yet again guys!

WHOA!
You are the man! 90s for $290, 80s for $180, 60s for $140? What, are they stolen? :-) thanks for the tip. Trying them on first would be nice, but I think I might grab some while they have my size, and take chances on returning them if they don't fit. Thanks again!

Re: Pulling the trigger
gwood1: u can probly use the original wheels on the skates for 2 years or more without any problems (i did for 2 or 3 with regular usage and they were still fine, but i got rid of the skates cos they were too small)... just make sure u rotate them from time to time and dont drag your toe to stop etc..

Re: WHOA!
You won't regret it... Tour's fit wide feet very well, and they're heat moldable (you can bake them). I have a pair of G90s and G80s and I absolutely adore them. Best boot I've ever skated on (and I have mission pure flys for ice).

Re: WHOA!
Grab the best ones you can afford, they'll last you longer and you'll enjoy skating on them more. Don't worry about the wheel availability, just order your wheels online and keep an extra set around in case.
Have fun.
