Good Durometer for wood floor
Our league plays on a maple wood flooring. I have had 76A Labeda Grippers and found they felt kinda mushy and I didn't like stopping on them. I then got Triton 82A and loved them for the first game and now they are just a little too slick with little traction at critical times. Does anyone play on a hard wood floor and if you do what wheel do you use? I'm thinking about getting the 78A Red Star Rebels? I think I may like a harder wheel due to ease of stopping. comments?
Softer wheels also tend to get torn up pretty quick on that floor.

Re: Good Durometer for wood floor
You are right - wood floors usually do not have grip problems - so a medium hard and medium sticky wheel should work. Like you said - the harder wheels work well at first - but then when they begin to lose a little grip they may slip even on wood. And yes the lower durometer wheels do tend to get torn up. You might try a set of the harder Cykos as well - you can order them through this site I think. There are Grippers in that range too which always seemed to do well - the old "mediums" which I think were also 78's. The harder Rink Rats will probably work well too.

Re: Good Durometer for wood floor
We play on wooden floors here in ireland most of the better players tend to use millenium grippers. they do wear but they keep their grippyness. I'm actually using Dynastys at the moment and they're brilliant but I only just got em so we'll see how they hold up over time.

Re: Good Durometer for wood floor
Yes they(milleniums) do play well on wood but tend to "chunk out" from the stress on them we have found. The old white Labeda "Grippers" mediums or softs (they came in x-soft,soft, med, and hard if I recall - no durometer was marked on the wheels) used to provide the right conbination of grip and durability on the wood. Don't know if you can still get them though. If so they ought to be pretty reasonable.

Sounds like a job for CYKO'S Blue Ice ! Very inexpensive and delivered right to your door. There a 74 a durometer wheel. They grip well! Email me for info [email protected]

Re: Good Durometer for wood floor
I already ordered the Red Star Rebel 78A ,so I'll see how they work out. If those don't work I'll get back to you.
I guess the problem is I haven't found a wheel that I've "fallen in love" with. I just kinda go from wheel to wheel hoping to find "the one". hah
