Good pucks for tennis courts/concrete?

Hi Guys,

We've tried several types of pucks on tennis court/concrete surfaces, but most of them bounce around heaps and refuse to stay flat. Does anyone have any recommendations for good pucks to use on rough surfaces?

The only puck we've seen that doesn't bounce around was one we haven't seen on sale anywhere. It is a hollow puck with a weight that moves around inside. Whenever if goes on its side, the weight forces the puck flat. Has anyone seen a puck like that for sale anywhere? The guys who were using it said they bought it from Woolworths ages ago, and they don't sell them any more.

i don't know about the ones you are referring to, but i have found one i like. i bought a few of the millenium pro pucks from epuck.com and the rule. i wanted to be able to practice with my son away from the rink. after the wife shot down my idea of doing the back yard in sport court, i bought a few. they move very well in the street and incredibly well on tennis courts. they also seem to be holding up pretty well.

The puck that we used to use outdoors was the z-puck by sun hockey. We tried alot of pucks and it was by far the best one on rough surfaces.

We don't have any smooth surfaces to play on in my area, so I have tried alot of pucks. Best one so far has been the propuck ( http://www.propuck.com/ ). Not only does it lay down nicely, but it last forever. My Pucks can get used as many as 5 hours a week, and after one season, they still show very little wear. They have a selection of colors.

I think the puck you are thinking of was the AGS Puck by Franklin. It was DAMN heavy, but did work fairly well. I usually use an IDS puck on tennis courts, but hey, its bad on that surface.

The puck your talking about is the "death" puck. It works ok, on the tennis courts. It's damn heavy and doesn't slide all that great. Be sure to wear full armor if you use it. For the non-textured tennis court, I found the plastic Franklin puck with the 3 balls and weights to work the best, especially after the edges get worn down. Because it's rolling and sliding, they last forever and move better than those that just slide. I've tried every puck there is. If all else fails, use the liquid filled balls.
