Interesting. So our away games would be in your basement. Is your team willing to play on the road and meet in my basement for your away games? Man, I have alot of work to do. Putting down a floor. Painting the walls. My Dad could ref. Outside the small basement window of course. It's square so that will work. I guess I could take out the fireplace and use the vacant hole as a net. Hmmm, this could work. Email me at WWW.BasementWorldSpeedInline.com for schedules. We are going to be RICH!!!!!!!

I don't have a basement. Do you mind playing in the parking lot across the street? I think there's only two sets of speedbumps to work around! Hey! Another new twist on the game!!! This might work....

Sorry, I can't include you on the schedule. This new season is only for teams in my region. This region includes the next three streets from my house. Next year though, we will think about including streets four through nine. Keep checking the web site for updates. As far as the speed bumps go, don't be silly. This is a real, organized, professional league. Speed bumps, what a joke. Der.

Is there a rule for how high manhole covers can protrude above street level? Just something to think about when visiting potential rinks....

For basement arenas, I think players should be allowed to swing around the support poles for added momentum. Plus during intermission, each team can invite the local strip club talent down to entertain the crowd.

Guess I'll just have to start my own professional league in my region. But mine will have the aforementioned speedbumps - gives the game that added "jump". Just imagine....

    Re: New League

On a serious note, although im all for a new Pro Inline League and have been waiting for one since RHI fell apart, this speed hockey thing im hearing about isnt what i had in mind. it sounds like another Pro Beach type of thing. if this sport is going to grow on all levels people need to stick to the same basic set of rules. also please stick to Inline or Roller Hockey. we dont need stupid names like Beach Hockey or Speed Hockey. maybe i will be wrong about this Speed Hockey league and it will grow on me but as of now it just sounds retarded.

    Re: New League

I still personally think speed hockey is going to be an injury nightmare.. between crashing into / getting hit into the nets because theres nowhere to go after a shot and from people getting drilled in the face by high/wide shots when standing in front (there is no reaction time people)... peole are gonna really get hurt.. mark my words
