    Puck Question

I was wondering what color puck do must people like. I like a red colored puck. We used a black puck for a while then with this new puck it is clear.

    Re: Puck Question

Personally, as a goalie, I like either black or red...Specifically red just because I seem to see it best...

I personally like Black. I have bad eye-sight, so black is easier to see.

Isn't the clear puck hard to see? I have seen white and yellow pucks before and both are hard to see.

I think the color of the puck should contrast well with the color of the rink.

See Richard........ I told you it's a conservative sport.

I think most agree - and failing that red. Depends of course on the hue of the boards and the lighting too but usually one or the other.

    Re: Puck Question

As a manufacturer of pucks we limited our colors to three choices; Black, Red or Orange. Black and Red sell better than Orange. Orange seems to sell primarily based on the flooring.

Interestingly when a player is given a choice (giveaways) they overwhelmingly choose Red.

Granted the Shock Puck has black runners so that may have something to do with the look.

However in games everyone seems to use a black puck, more traditional perhaps. When the sport first began due to the blue flooring the preferred puck was Orange. It was one of the products that separated roller from ice.

    Re: Puck Question

Our outdoor rink has a pretty dark blue flooring, so I get orange pucks for something like that.

Time of day will have something to do with it as well. At night it will be no problem to use an Orange puck. During the day I recomend a darker color.

    Re: Puck Question

Thats the reason when I look into my puck bad it represents a rainbow of color, a puck for any rink in any situation ;-)
