Brutal... absolutely Brutal. You know we'd have you on our squad in a heartbeat if we could. This is just another fine example of extreme talent that gets pushed to the side in the name of picking up a couple Names. We'll see who all gets the last laugh at Nat's.
Hey tt,
You have private message.

I thought they were the ones who took the team's picture after regionals and those were the only players who could play. I didn't think you could pick up players just for the National event.
Hey Ying, are you invited to NARCH with us? I think you know who this is. By the way, when did you find out you were hosed?
i found out about a week ago after asking him a month and a half ago to let me know if i wasn't going to be invited. he didn't even call me. all i got was an e-mail.
i'm not sure about narch. i was pretty angry and really didn't feel like discussing anything else. i have a platinum team i'm going to play on at narch. i'd rather be playing pro but as long as i'm playing.
each adult team can have one (supposedly...but the rules have been bent pretty good this year) qualified pro player on their roster. however, you cannot jump from one pro team to the next after qualifying.
I believe it is something along the lines of: You can list up to 15 players on a TORHS roster, and each of those players must play with the team at some regional event. You don't necessarily have to use the players who qualified with you at the regional you won. You are just confined to the players who are on the roster. This is why you see teams like the Mudcats come back to qualify players in the spring, since some of their players are busy with ice during the first half of the touranment season.
Thanks. That does clear it up. So if you enter 6 times with 6 new guys each time and qualify then you could have almost 50 guys to choose from? Maybe they should limit the times you can qualify. Just doesn't strike as fair to me but I also don't watch any games, so....
It's one way for TORHS to keep more teams coming to their Regionals and also to have more of them.
The rule is you can not qualify more than 15 players, and as ussual people say things without understanding the rules
I appologize if my post perpetrated any misconceptions - I had understood from conversations - not reading the rules, that there was a chance to qualify multiple players(more than 15) at different regionals and then select the best of those players - up to 15.
No, not at all........this is the way I believe it was explained to me by TORHS.
A team roster has 15 spots total on it. You can only fill up to that; if you enter another regional, you have to bring back players on your original roster or you can add to the remaining spots. The intention is to prevent teams from doing what you said.
I believe Tony and Lori keep track of this very closely.
Edit - looks like TORHS responded personally to this; I didn't notice.
Edited by SpeedDemon on 06/15/03 04:12 PM.

I also had heard the same. I know teams enter more than once for the money but I also heard they did it to qualify players. As no rosters or scores per game are listed we "net" searchers can't keep up!
Hi NLane,
I am prepared to publish the complete rule books for each league and organizing/governing body in the sport on Inline Hockey Central as a service to IHC's readers if a suitable portion of the readership requests me to do so.
