    Re: Slipping & Sliding

if the wheels don't spin when you tighten them up, check that the wheel and axle is properly aligned, then that it is properly seated on the bearing. I find if you tighten it up and it doesn't spin...

It has come time to grab some new skates - can anyone tell me how Alkali skate sizing matches up with Bauer? I know I am a 10.5 D in Bauer, but no idea how that translates into an Alkali boot.

    Re: HILO Wheel Setup

yes, you can put other diameters in, provided the diameter difference stays the same. In your case it is a 8mm difference.

e.g. an 80-72 HILO setup can run 80-72 or 76-68 (IIRC there was a CCM...

hilo vs flat vs easton big-wheel is all somewhat irrelevant when they're all a 'flat' point of...

Re: Help I cant skate properly

do you have a buddy at the rink that could take a short video of you? It doesn't need to be anything fancy - just phone camera quality - and post it up for people to look at. One at the start of the...

    Re: No more usa hockey!!!!

If RHA became a genuine IOC recognised body that'd be great - but without that, in many places we're beholden to whoever else has an official recognition with a higher power, since that is our path...

    Re: No more usa hockey!!!!

I agree - the differences are smaller between inline and what IIHF cares about, than between inline and the other branches of FIRS (or USARS/Skate Australia/etc). But we're a different sport to ice...

    Re: No more usa hockey!!!!

IMO you could level that at any of the FIRS affiliated associations, it is at least a step towards unification.

I also wonder whether this signals anything about IIHF pulling out of inline hockey...
  17. Re: What should i do to prepare for state wars tryouts?

  18. Re: What should i do to prepare for state wars tryouts?

plenty of sleep, keep hydrated, and set your skates up for whatever surface you'll be skating on - beyond that you're talking longer term training programs

Re: Any good pick-up hockey in Melbourne, AUS?
