MLRH AA
Summer Non-checking AA league
Basically, MLRH AA is a National League, much like our AAA league. There will be a 10-game regular season with games played in June and July and playoffs in August. We have had expressions of interest from all over North America and several foreign countries. I believe that all cities with AAA teams will also have one or more AA teams so, if you live in a AAA city, you may want to ask your Hockey Director about playing AA. However, if you are serious about playing, you might want to consider organizing your own team. Chances are that you now play in an elite league or on a travel team. Perhaps you are just a player who feels ready to "Step up" to the next level. MLRH AA is that opportunity.
Basic Rules
Each team will be permitted to roster up to 20 players and dress 14 for games. Games will have the same four-quarter format as the pro games and should take about 1 1/2 hours to complete. We will use the Center Line off sides rule. AA teams will be permitted to roster two AAA players. A player must have played seven or more AAA games to be designated "AAA." The league will require a minimum of four teams within an hour's driving time to create a AA Division.
The Cost
Each team will pay a $250 sanctioning fee to secure their place in the league. All players will be required to join the Major League Roller Hockey Players Association at an annual fee of $30. Membership includes insurances coverage and discounts on wheels and equipment. Teams will also be required to provide a suitable facility and pay the game officials at the prevailing local rate. In some cases, rinks provide teams with the floor time, in other situations, teams rent the floor time for their games. In either case, the league requires a confirmation from the facility that they will support the team or, at the very least, consent to rent the rink time to the AA team.
To reduce travel time , MLRH AA will permit more than one team to play in the same facility. Shortly, you will be able to download an application from our web site. We do not require the Players Association memberships fees until your first game as your roster may change. In the event that there are not enough teams to create a division, the $250 sanction fee will be refunded. All players and coaches receive free insurance coverage and the MLRH plan provides coverage to teams and players traveling to games and practices. Sixteen is the minimum age to participate MLRH AA with parental consent.
We will be happy to answer any specific questions. Thanks for your interest in MLRH AA. Feel free to forward this information to players that you think might find this of interest..
