to all you viewers out there,

i am still trying to figure out why in the world USA inline is always overlapping their national championship tournaments with that of NARCH. i can relate that i personally have always had fun at both events, and i can honestly say that the competetion level is great at NARCH, but why always overlap the NCT's? in addition, USA has just announced that they will be having a college division as a new addition to their NCT at the end of July, but what they do not realize is that the majority of the players in the college divisions do in fact play in or on different teams at NARCH. i would love to see my MSU team attend this tournament in the summer, but for some strange reason, some of our players (more like 85%) will already be in florida competeting in estero. (man is that facility smokin') what is everyones opinion on this subject, or can someone explain the reasoning behind USA inlines theory behind this subject matter? please inform me; inquiring minds wanna know.

In discussions with Aaron Kriss, Dan Brennan, and Gary Delvechio over the past three months, the subject of timing and schedulling has come up.

I do not mean to speak for either these guys, or the USA Hockey Inline organization, but, to my knowledge,

1. The main fact is that USA Hockey Inline does a big bunch of things:

2. 12 youth regionals (much like NARCh, of course),

3. The youth Nats,

4. The four (MIdget Div) NTPD camps. The Junior National festival.

5. The Open tryout camp for the seniors USAHIL National Team. The National team try-outs themselves. The National Team training Camp. Three separate steps in selecting the national team, which gives almost anybody a legitimate look-see (check out the sealweenie guy for his perspective on this vs. the USARS team selection method),

6. The two Bantam Div NTDP camps,

7. The USAHIL Inline Cup (the adult Nats).

8. an attempt to sandwich in both high school and college tourneys...

Both NARCh and USAHIL are at the mercy, so to speak, of rink and facility availability, cooperation, and even acts-of-god catastrophies (see the feature on IHC Main page, for example, about the Gretzky Center flooding).

I agree that it would be extremely beneficial if USAHIL and NARCh could coordinate their programs. Your point that players who would benefit from participation in both are unable to do so because of schedule conflicts is well taken.

You should definitely consult with the above mentioned guys at 1-800-888-4656. You will find them to be responsive and helpful. At worst, you will probably see a renewed effort to achieve better coordination next year.
