View Full Version : Since XHI isn't a taboo subject anymore:

I think I need to make some comments.

First off I am happy to see that XHI is trying to improve it's public image after trying to shut down the entire inline hockey online press. Having said that they have untold amounts of ground to make up. It's funny that Mike Killbreath's name hasn't been brought up during all of this. After all he caused all of the trouble in the first place yet he is still in charge.

If the XHI wants everyone who posts on IHC, NARCh, RHC and IHNet to shut up about the league's credibility they need to do the following things:

1) Refund all the money from the tryout camps in June. None of the players drafted were even contacted about it and the whole matter was handled in a very shabby manner. If players are going to trust these guys again they need to be shown that the league is willing to make amends for their previous mistakes.

2) Mike Killbreath needs to be removed as head of this thing and someone else needs to be brought in who isn't looking to insult everyone before him and threaten to sue everyone in sight. He is proving to be a loose cannon and should be turfed in favor of someone more media, marketing and fan friendly.

3) No mandatory tryouts for players who want to play in the league. That makes people wonder if it's just a cash grab and you are in trouble when you have a policy like that. Players, coaches, media and fans alike have a "wait and see" attitude at the present. You cannot put a gun to someone's head to get them behind you. You need to show the media, players and fans that this is for real and when they see this then they will support it.

4) Get rid of the stupid 3rd quarter hitting rule. This is a goon squad rule plain and simple and it screws up team's rosters. The RHI and MLRH didn't fail because of goonery or because of the rules they used. They failed because of bad management decisions in their final 3 years of opperation.

5) Forget about the 3rd quarter shootout as well. This is a distraction to players, coaches and it alienates fans. Side show stuff won't get more fans in the seats.

6) Go back to basics. NARCh succeeds because they don't cheapen the product. They put on an impressive show and leave the game the way it is.

The bottom line is that the XHI, if they actually begin play have their work cut out for them. If they listen to at least half of my comments they have a shot. If they ignore my warnings like they have from everyone else then they are DOA. I am not slandering anyone in this letter. If the XHI wishes to sue me then they can go ahead but I am expressing my opinion with a level head. I think that the fans have every right to be skeptical right now and you just can't force people to get the message about the sport. You have to show the fans that you are for real and threatening and insulting people isn't the answer.

Fans have the right to free speach in the constitution and you cannot take that away from them. Imagine if Gary Bettman tried to sue everyone who has critisized him? Not only would the NHL be bankrupt from attourney's fees but they wouldn't even have Canadian papers covering them and they would be dead. Enough of my yapping what do you say?

This is Michael Joseph, Director of Public Relations for Extreme Hockey International. It's my role to respond to all idiots such as you who are misinformed and allowed to slander people because the owners of this web site obviously are not worried about protecting whatever value this site has and any personal assets they may have. The Associated Press recently reported the first case of slander against an anonymous post on a message board. It was more than $600,000 I believe. Some of the accusations leveled in this post against XHI and Mr. Killbreath were mild, compared to what the judge ruled in the $600,000 case. It's too bad you, or the web host, don't have $600,000 for Mr. Killbreath and XHI to collect for being sl

I would hope that you would actually read what your post says.. Idiots???? I read your website comments and come on... you put down.. no.. I take that back.. you SLANDER all the prior leagues before yours... also...Pro beach Hockey..... obviously you didn't listen while you were at school... did you really think that us "idiots" (boy, I think that was the 1st public relations faux paus you learned in high school) are so "idiotic" to want to actually watch this "wwf" type hockey you have dreamt up??? Actually, we (the idiots who post on all these HOCKEY sites) love HOCKEY(quarters? I coulda sworn they were periods) What you are trying to put on is nothing more than a 3 ring circus... as before... good luck.. and next time, try and listen to "constructive criticism" instead of actually being the "idiot", by making "idiotic" comments.... sorry for you... keep it real.. and true to the sport! laters, j-bo

I wonder if the real reason for you being so upset about this post is really because you are really Mike Killbreath? Am I right? If not I am worried about the XHI.

By the way j-b, props for going to bat for the board man. Someone needs to have the guts to tell it like it is about the XHI.

Dear Mr. Joseph,

Since it is obvious you are no more skilled at public relations than I am, I will set you straight right here.

First of all, until you get your own domain, webspace and niche on the Internet, you will not be making derogatory comments towards any of our members.

Secondly, if you think that the best way to win acceptance for your new league is to come on and slander former leagues and persons associated with these leagues with senseless comments, you need to go back and earn a degree in your profession.

Thirdly, no one cut off your posts or edited them without specifically leaving a tagline indicating such. Similarly, your implication of a lawsuit is fairly baseless seeing as how you come here and mock our users and then get upset when they doubt you based on your belligerent attitude. People come to conclusions based on their personal experience, and they are entitled to express these opinions as long as they are not publically, actively promoting this as fact. What you are doing is like picking a fight and then calling the cops when you get beat up.

Lastly, you won't be posting on this board anymore until you figure out how to associate with others on a more mature level. You are not bigger than the sport. You need to understand that there are a lot of people who have come before you and who have done a lot of positive things for inline hockey, and you will not disparage them in this time and place.

Let the record show that I am not formulating an opinion about Mr. Joseph or his league. As an employee of this website, I am merely correcting his attitude while participating on our site as he is bound by our rules as our visitor. All other guests are bound by the same.

PPS. To all the other readers: Inline Hockey Central exists to promote positive aspects of the sport of inline hockey. Until Mr. Joseph and the rest of XHI decides they would like to promote themselves in a businesslike manner, the conversation is over.
