Hello gentlemen, I'm new to this site and just logged on. After reading some of your posts I had to join in. I guess being a Lions fan doesn't make me a very popular guy but I have to tell ya, I was able to watch preseason inter
squad games all but one home game and the tournament games against the Mud Cats and I'm ready to say without any hesitation that there the best collegiate team in the country!! There just to deep. Every player on that bench can score and everyone of them can play as physical as they need to. I expect a blow out at nationals.

I totally agree with you. No college will beat that great Lindenwood team. They have all the tools to win the championship again, but with ease.

I know nothing about Lindenwood and haven't ever seen them play, but I really think if a team would play them physical they could be defeated. Seems like everyone just knows they're going to lose when they play them. If you come in with that mindset then of course it's going to happen.

It's not that they can't be beaten. They are humans and can make mistakes, get sick, hurt, tired, etc.
However, what makes them good is their experience. Most people playing can't rattle off the number of championships that the players on that team can. And in a close game, they should always come out on top.

NEWS FLASH! Lindenwood is good. In case anyone hadn't heard. If this is the case, welcome back to the world from the rock that you have been living underneath.

Any team could be good if the players focused 95% of their time on hockey and 5% of their time on bleaching each others hair. Without school to worry about they can really enhance their wicked sweet hockey skillz. Clearly book learnin aint something they are too into or certain cavemen (past and present) would not have been able to attend the GREAT LENDENWOOD UNIVERSITY!!! OMG LOL ROFL BBQ GTG

I love when people get on these message boards and talk about things they know nothing about. Most of the time I just laugh, but when it comes to messages like the one above it makes me want to correct the person who made the false statement. If you would have noticed earlier in the season all three Lindenwood teams were shorthanded during the weekend of Jan. 20th. The reason for this is because Lindenwood University has stricter academic requirements than the NCRHA. Thus, these athletes all could have played that weekend according to the NCRHA rules. So, for your information JimmyLovesPaddy, these athletes work very hard in school. You also don't see these Lindenwood athletes sticking around and playing for more than four years. This is because they graduate from the university! Imagine that! You must have mistaken Lindenwood University for a community college. And not at all am I saying that community colleges are a joke. I think most are very good colleges, but it is mysterious why certain players play for these community colleges for 3 to 4 years when it is a 2 year school. Know the facts...
Now, since this topic had to do with Lindenwood being unbeatable I will reply on it and I have one sentence to say about it. "Any team can win at any given time, its just a matter of who wants it more."

I am sure they are VERY strict. Clearly, a school that lets you pay your tuition in livestock is nothing to laugh at. Lindenwood is of the highest academic caliber... right.
Is it possible that if the kids on the team paid a little more attention to school they would not have the academic problems that are making it so they can?t play? The argument that lindenwood players have to miss games because of academics and therefore there school is very focused on education has some serious flaws. I would think the argument is that lindenwood players are either dumb or do not pay attention to school and that is why they have to miss games do to academic reasons.
jhilke14- You bring up players playing more than 2 years at a community college? Your best player at LU, Brandon Marchand played what 3 or 4 years at St.Charles.

school is what you make of it i am sure Lu has some players who will graduate in 4 years and make something of themselves some kids might play 4 or 5 years and not graduate/ not get a job but i bet just about every team in the league has a player or 2 like that. unless you go to cornell or one of the engineering schools from caly then no one is really in a postion to tell someone they are worthless, maybe if people weren't so worried about what LU combined gpa was and instead what systems they play during the game someone would beat them. Neumann's ice hockey team has 20 kids which 17 are from canada that are all 24 year old sophmores who are down right nasty i don't see other schools calling them dumb on the d3 ice hockey message boards because it seems only in roller hockey people become unclassy and talk **** when someone is better then you

No one is ever in a position to call anyone worthless, regardless of what college you go to. There are many successful people out there in the "real world" that never even went to college.

Yeah, look at Mark Cuba. He dropped out of Pitt after a semester and now he short sells stocks and issues fake press releases to make millions upon millions of dollars a year. The SEC doesn't mind, though, because they are all fans of the Dallas Mavericks.
See - even if you go to Pitt and drop out, you'll become a billionaire.
Every school has something going for it. The elite privates and upper-echelon publics certainly have better reputations for certain areas of study and more strict admissions guidelines, but if you are willing to work hard enough, you can get whatever you want out of an undergraduate degree. I'll hold off on grad school because as far as I'm concerned, that's where name and reputation have real merit.

It will be very unlikely for any team to beat Lindenwood at National. Having scholarships to handout they have the capability to recruit any player in the country (for hockey not academic). The rest of us teams are limited to players which go to our school and have to fight to get minimal funding. Is this an unfair advantage? I think so.
For me it ruins Nationals knowing that the only chance you have to get second is to get in the bracket opposite to Lindenwood. Lindewood is "unbeatable" and will remain unbeatable as long as they are the only team giving scholarships. Thank god there are regionals and Lindenwood is not in our division.

im definately going to have to disagree, LU is lucky in that they can give out the grants to their players but its not necessary to do that to beat them, i know at my school specifically and probably elsewhere, there are very talented hockey players who have chosen not to play, had they played things could go very differently in addition its going to be vastly easier for a team in an area that is much more sparsely populated with colleges to put together a contender, by having so many schools in the northeast for instance they talent pool is likely to be diluted whereas if there was a hypothetical group of talented kids out of hawaii for instance there is a much better chance of them all ending up at the same state school

Well, one way to look at it is the Ivy League vs. everyone else. No scholarships there, yes they still manage to beat other DI opponents. Even look at a team like Villanova lacrosse, who managed to beat Air Force and Hofstra recently, and who has a part-time head coach. It can be done, it will just take time and the balls for a few kids to want to go somewhere else and try and win, regardless of what kind of money they throw at them. It's easy to go someplace where they win already. It's much more difficult to go somewhere else and make them the better team and able to win. But it can be done....

"Unbeatable" might be a stretch.
http://www.ncrha.org/game.php?game_id=65993&area=matchup
3 out of 4 match-ups were 2 goal games (incl 1 w/ an EN).
Is LU the favorite? Of course. We'll just have to wait and see how it pans out. I can't wait to tune in.
It's just a shame that we only see this match-up once a year.
