May we kindly solict any operating girls' teams out there to work with us in establishing a communications network? Last year, USA Hockey Youth nationals held all-girls' divisions for the first time. Except for our Texas team, and possibly one of the teams from Virgina, none of the seven teams last year were "standing" teams, that is, they organized only for the purpose of participating in the tournament.
This year, the Polar Bears will send both a 12's (years '94-'90) and a 17's ('85-'89) teams to Georgia in August.
We believe that the Cincinnati Eagles, that guy in New Hampshire, possibly some groups in California, Florida, Georgia, and Oregon might actually be working with a girls' program at this time.
If you are working with an established, or newly formed all-girls squad, we would be interested in working with you. Perhaps meeting for some friendly games over spring break, etc...Frankly, we would even be willing to play vs. an ice team, if you wouldn't mind putting wheels on to play with us. We'll travel halfway to your place, split costs, etc, just let us know...we hope to kick-start inline hockey opportunities for girls accross the country, and this is one way we can do it.
Anybody out there?
-Coach Danny, Caitlin, Rose, Brittany, any all the Polar Bears in El Paso, Texas
