Hey,

I recently bought a pair of Mission Type M's, but I skate mostly outdoors. I would like to use the Abec 7 688 mini bearings that came with it and get myself some outdoor wheels, but all the wheels that I can find that are made for outdoors don't have a 688 core (of course there's plenty made for indoors with the 688 core). Anyone that can help? Thanks in advance!

If I paid $500 for some skates I wouldnt consider skating on them outside....But if you are Id say just use 608 bearings, you can find more outdoor wheels with 608 bearings than 688.

I have a pair of Mission VSI vibe's and use them both indoor and outdoor. I ended up buying a second set of 608 size wheels, bearings, and spacers for outdoors since I could not find a reasonable 688 outdoor hockey wheel and also b/c i wanted to save my 688 bearings from dirt.

As for skating outside on expensive skates, unless you're just worried about scuffing them or something, there's no reason to care if you're using expendable bearings/wheels... except if you use the VIBE frame, which does seem to collect dirt to some extent. I'm not sure how serious of an issue this is in the long run, though. It is possible to disassemble and clean the VIBE assembly, of course, but sand and grit may wear down parts enough to require replacement.

Cheers,
Ben
