Hey I'm new to this site and I have to say the conversation level here is very low!!! Someone needs to spice it up...i mean lets talk about all the teams we play for...I play for the Hyper Fierce Cucumbers from Texas. I use to play for Final Fury. Anyone playing in Vegas in Jan for Narch? I'm playing at Torhs Wintercup in New York Jan. 3-6. Has anyone seen those new Easton Pro Glo gloves? Sweet eh? And am I the only one who hates those new CCM helmet with the colored shell? I got a new Synergy Grip at a Dallas Stars game...Zubov handed it to me after the first period as he was walking the the locker room...pretty cool eh? So if anyone has anything cool to say, let us hear it cuz i love hockey adn i love to talk about it.

Hey,
Being new to this board I guess you wouldn't know much. The people here don't really write much on topics that aren't really important for the sport. I remember in the summertime we were on a mission, guys what has happened!?
Anyways, when something has meaning, look for me, Ken, Benny, and a whole load of others to get involved!
Welcome to the board too!

Hi I am Greg and I like hockey
I am currently playing for the Mission Snipers after a long career with the underachieved Tour Dragons
I coach the Tour Dragon Squirt team...(2000 NARCh Mite Silver medalists, Nightmare) It is 2002 so they are 2nd yrs again so we will see
The new ccm helmets are nasty and only look good if the whole team has them, such as the hosers.
I am going to Vegas in January with te Snipers....
How is that?

I have a quick question: How do you go about getting a tryout with a team sponsored by Tour, Mission, etc...... I've been playing roller for about 8 years now and feel like I'm an above average player. Chances are, if I was good enough to play for these teams, I would have been noticed by now. My main objective is just to find a decent team to play in tourneys with. I play with a lot of good hockey players, just none that are interested in playing in tourneys/traveling, etc. Any suggestions? Thanks ahead of time for help guys, and Happy Holidays!

Or, more importantly, how old are you? Unfortunately, as of now, most pro sponsored teams require you to just "know" someone... Yea, I know that is unfair but, that's the way it is for now.

I'm 24 years old from St. Louis, MO. Yeah , probably a bit old. I know that a lot of teams are formed just by Player A knowing Player B knowing Player C. One of the Tour Bandits teams is located here, and basically the coach said they don't even have tryouts. Even some of the local rink owners around here have their traveling teams set with acquaintances, and that's fine. I may be S.O.L. Even though I'm in my mid 20's with a full-time job, roller hockey is still my life, and I'd love to go further with it if possible. Hell I'd even love to tryout for a MRHL team, but I really couldn't just give up my job. I'm sure a lot of guys are in my boat, but at this point, I'd like to just find a serious team to play with in the occasional weekend tourney.

Hang out around All-American Sports ;) I'm sure you'll run into somebody there who can give you some ideas.

Yeah, I'm very familiar with All-American. I've played in a few leagues there for the past 4 years. Actually it's been a "C" league with a bunch of good friends who really aren't all that great, but it's fun anyway. I'm not really into "hanging-out", but I know what you're saying. Thank you very much for the advice.

Oh, just let it all hang out!
Actually, the St. Louis Tour Cup, and the NARCh qualifier there (not sure of the dates) are at least two key weekends to be there. If nothing else, just make sure you play/"hang out" those weekends, and I'm sure you'll find information you're looking for. If I go, I'll let you know.
