AAU Hockey announced today the creation of the American Inline Hockey League, a new league designed for elite players age 16 and above as they advance beyond the traditional youth ages to the senior semi- professional level. The league will debut this coming fall, with teams representing several different regions across the United States. This AIHL will be a non-profit 501 3 © organization.
The new league will be designed to cater to players in the U.S. that aspire to play inline hockey at the highest level. The goal of the AIHL is to bring structure to the sport of inline hockey across the U.S. and to align itself with the national governing body of inline hockey, USA Roller Sports. This new league will be designed and operated by the team owners and will be sanction under the banner of the AAU/USARS. Many organizations have already committed to participating in the AIHL for 2008/09 season.
If your team or organization is interest in being a part of this new league, please send an e-mail with all of your contact information, including organization name, to americaninlinehockeyleague@yahoo.com and someone will contact you with further information.
