i just had one quick question about the rules if anyone may know...i was hit with a high stick and it split my lip open, obviously bleeding. has there never been a 2nd minor assessed for drawing blood in PIHA? i've never played in or even heard of a league that didnt enforce that rule? i'm not complaining or upset by the call cause it is what it is but i was just curious

AFAIK, that rule is true in all professional leagues that PROHIBIT full facial protection (unless there is a medical reason, such as the NHL).

Most if not all leagues that allow the player to decide if they want to wear facial protection or not do NOT have this rule because the same high stick that grazes someone's cage may open you up like a stuck pig.

oh ok, i can see that. it's like i said i'm not arguing the rule or anything like that, i've simply never seen the rule not enforced. but either way the york team played some great games last night. my bad on forgetting the minor scores

It's been said that York's supposed to have a better team this year... the pace of the game was definetly faster than I expected.

i just want to give some props to the FireAnts for playing 2 very close games with the Blaze this weekend. They are stacked this year pretty well and you guys suprised at least me, in a good way, with playing 2 close games and getting a point!

thanks katinsky!

kalish stood on his head and we had 3 powerplay goals in game 1.

in game two J.P. scored the winner off our goalie's pads from behind the net.

obviously any high stick to your face is an infraction that needs to be called. If it draws blood the usual call if non-intentional will be 4 minutes or 5 for intentional. However, if the referee cannot see what has caused the cut on your face perhaps he may believe it was caused by something other than a stick. He then may not even assess a penalty or a 2 minute minor perhaps for another infraction that may have caused your cut.
