The Elmira Junior 'A' Jackals first tryout camp was a tremendous success. Players attended the camp from 7 different states, two provinces of Canada as well as some local players. Pictures from the camp are available on the team website listed below. The program is looking to round out its roster and has a number of spots remaining.
The Elmira Junior 'A' Jackals are embarking on their first season of hockey at the Junior Level. The team is aiming toward providing the true Junior 'A' atmosphere to its players...including practicing and playing all home games at the 5000 seat First Arena in downtown Elmira, New York.
There is no other Junior Program on the east coast that provides it's players with the facility and staff that the Junior Jackals offer We are also right under the same umbrella and training of the ECHL Pro Team. The Jackals TRULY and HONESTLY move and provide players the road to the next level. Having the credibility of the Pro Staff makes it very easy for communication with College and Pro teams.
One of the major showcase tools for the players is that every game is televised live on the Internet for all scouts and colleges to watch. On the team site you will also see the news articles and T.V. News coverage of the team and players.
Part of the team amenities includes full equipment: gloves, helmets, shell or pants, socks, game/practice jerseys, visors as well as sticks and skates through the sponsorship program. A full gym membership is included along with team apparel and track suit. The team travels by Sleeper/Tour Bus and meals are provided through its Booster Club.
The team is holding their second camp on July 27th and July 28th (Saturday, Sunday) including interviews and physical training tests. Players are required to provide their own equipment, sneakers and work out clothes.
