Does anyone know when RR pools will be announced? How far in advance were they announced last year?

We've reached the date the RR pools were announced last year... Except Nats started a day later...

What is goin on? Do we have any idea when this is coming out?

Apparently the announcement is held off until all teams have paid their entry fee.

IMO, it would make more sense to just announce the pools, then if someone fails to pay, replace them with the first alternate. Seems easy enough (but I'm sure there's a good reason it's not done like that).

Well DII should have pool like this

1 ECRHA, 1 GP, 1 West, 1 Wild Card

With 2 ECRHA Teams, Northern Illinois, UT Dallas, and Emory being the WC's

Seriously, who needs directional schools...cant schools get a little more creative with their university names...

Northern Michigan, Western Michigan, Eastern Michigan

It's way to confusing...

There's a Central Michigan too....

The directionals here in Missouri have tried to create their own identities recently...

Truman State used to be known as Northeast Missouri State. I think the change was made about ten years ago.

Missouri State used to be known as Southwest Missouri State. That change happened less than a year ago, I think.

Really just curious...Looking at the B Division. As it stands now, St. Louis CC - Meramec Gold has four games and St. Charles CC has two. As I see the pools right now it looks like this, but I could be way off. :)

Pool 1:
St. Louis CC - Meramec Gold
Michigan
Florida
Colorado St. Green

Pool 2:
Suffolk County
UC Santa Barbara Gold
St. Charles CC
Texas A&M

Pool 3:
Lindenwood Gold
Michigan State
Towson
North Texas

d1 picks

Group A- URI
Group B- Towson (toughest group)
Group C- hmm
Group D- seems pretty weak. Toss up
Group E- Mich St, but RIT is going in VERY hot and should give them a game

DI Picks:

A: Rhode Island
B: Towson (If the EMU team from the second 1/2 shows up, its EMU. Anyone know who is going? i noticed they forfeit a ton of games)
C: Lindenwood
D: NC State
E: Michigan State

DII Picks:
A: Emory
B: Long Beach State
C: Neumann
D: Stony Brook
E: UMSL

An interesting Note is that there are 10 teams in DII Nationals that were not at nationals last year. Should make things so much more interesting.

So the format is a little different then I expected. After round robin, how many teams advance to the bracket from each pool?

EMU is pretty sick nasty. They had to forfeit the second semester games because some players were found to be ineligible. The team that they played with at regionals will be the team that's at nationals. They should easily win that pool.

U guess it makes sense that a team is caught with illegal players and not get suspended for the year. That is just stupid, but whatever. That pool is very solid and Towson comes to play every year at the Nationals. That is the game to watch in pool play. I have Towson winning 5-4.

Unless something crazy happens, I'd expect the same 3 teams to be in the final four that are every year. Lindenwood, MSU, and Eastern...Who does everyone think is going to be that 4th team??

Eastern should beat Towson easily with their new pros. Only teams with tons of team speed will have a shot to take them out.

Lindenwood will obviously roll

MSU has its flaws but barring and huge breakdown, they have more than enough talent to get them the the final four

It's always been every team in the past.

my guess (and this is only a guess) is that the bottom 8 teams play a play-in game, then those 4 winners are put in the bracket with the top 12, and it's elimination from there on in.

That would make the most sense in both D1 and D2.....i'm no scheduler but those games will probably be played thursday evening.....

As far as pool play goes....
D1
A URI
B EMU (most difficult pool)
C LU
D NC State
E MSU
Final Four: LU, EMU, MSU, URI
D2
A Winner of Emory/Hofstra
B Long Beach
C Nuemann
D Stonybrook (most difficult pool)
E UMSL
Final Four: Nuemann, Stonybrook, UMSL, LBS
D3
St Charles v Broward in Champ
B:
Lindenwood v Suffolk in champ

Looks like we were right. Thursday evening for the play in games, then possibly 3 games for the teams that keep on winning on Friday, and a single game Saturday morning.
