I went to see the Charlotte team play a couple times when I was in town and to be honest I was disappointed with the level of play..There were a few players that had some talent but overall it was like an adult beer league...The game was really slow paced, the hitting was horriable, both teams just looked like it was a pick up game(no kinda game plan) I dont mean to knock the team or the league, I have just read about this MLRH for awhile now was in town and thought Id check it out...After the first period I was ready to ask for my money back cause it was definatly not worth what they charged to see the game....I dont want this to cause a big stink, I just want to know if there is better talant on other teams and the games are more exciting in other arenas around MLRH?

I really have no idea the talent level of the South division since we've yet to play them but I do know about the Boston Storm, which I play for, the Hartford Thunder, the New York Rockers and the now New Jersey Gladiators. All 4 of these teams have some serious weapons in their all around game. Lots of offensive firepower, plenty of speed and to many guys to list that could put you in alot of hurtin with a serious body check. Trust me, if your ever in the area when any of teams meet...oh believe me your going to get your moneys worth and then some.

Charlotte is an expansion team in an area where talent isnt exactly plentiful. After your top 5 or so guys there is a huge dropoff in ability and it reflects on the entire team. The team will get better and already is as the season progresses and we get more of our out of towners into the lineup. I've played in this league for years now for a few teams and I would without a doubt say yes, the teams in the north are superior, check em out before you frown on MLRH players' talent.

ps- actually, I can't recall charlotte putting on a bad show in charlote. Our 1st game was a loss with 4 seconds on the clock and our 2nd home game was an OT win? How much closer do you want it?

Street...This was only a question and I said I didnt want it to cause a stink, but obviouslly you must have missed that part in my question...I saw both of the games you mentioned the game that Charlotte got beat with a few ticks left on the clock, was exciting but it was no more exciting than an adult league game, the talent level was just lower than what I expected it to be from reading things online here about MLRH...I paid my $12 or whatever it was to see the game so I can say what I want about it, maybe if you sat back and watched them play youd see what I was saying...But Im not here to down the Charlotte team at all, like I said I was here to ask a question..I hope you guys work hard, get better and do very well...Ive played hockey on both coast and north and south I understand the talent level is not what it is out west or up north, but I played with and aganist some great players from the south...Needless to say I hope I didnt offened you and I hope your season turns out well, if Im in Charlotte again when you guys play Ill check ya out again..

Darrell...I will defiantly check out some of those northern teams if I get back up to Boston sometime before the spring...Im sure there is some top notch talent your way...I played on a team with a guy from Boston and 4 from Jersey and they were nasty...Again I hope I didnt offened and hope your seasons go well..

Is there like a tournament or champinship series or something at the end of your season?...If so do you know where? Thanks

The gladiators are down in carolina for 2 games in feb, the 11th i think? Some of our players arent making the trip but i think you could get a taste of the northern teams when they all make their trips down.

I hope my new pads came with that 30 save guarantee they promised!!

Hey Man,

No offense taken. Like I said, check out the northern teams, as a whole they are much better. Depth is the problem the teams in the south have.

The real problem here is that you paid $12 for an MLRH game. Goodness, I hope you simply don't recall the price correctly. NARCH and TORHS tournaments are free to watch, and other than top 3-4 teams that have top guys that also play in NARCH and TORHS, many of those tournament series teams would smoke MLRH teams. Seriously, I can go see the AHL Phantoms play for $12, and get better talent, better arena and better intermission shows. I've paid once to go watch the Marple Glads play ($5), when they had 4-5 guys from Team USA playing. It was worth it. Now, I just wait until a tournament series is in the area.

Bottom line is that at the talent level you speak of (which is pretty representative across the league for anything other than a starting line) it isn't worth more than $5 to see.

Price was $6 per ticket and has since gone down to $5
