USA Hockey InLine will be hosting the 2005 Inline Hockey Industry Meeting in Las Vegas, Nev., on October 5-6. Most of the inline hockey manufacturers, tournament operators and selected leagues and other inline organizations will be there. We have organized this meeting so we can examine the current state of the sport, determining ways to make the sport better for everyone and attracting new participants to the game. It's our goal to have action plans in place after the meeting.
We want your your input on how to make inline hockey better for everyone. We are looking for positive feedback on improving all aspects of the sport. We have set up a special email box to handle your input. While posting your input to this thread is fine, sending us a direct email will better help us organize all of the input that we will be receiving. We are sending out this same request to our entire USA Hockey InLine database as well.
Please send your thoughts via e-mail to industrymeeting@usahockey.org. This is a chance for you to make our sport better and make your voice heard by many of the people within the inline hockey industry. We'd like to hear your ideas.

Wow! USA Hockey InLine is spending a lot of time, energy, and money to make this happen for the benefit of everybody. I applaud this action as an obvious example of working at all levels to see everybody in the sport succeed.
USA Hockey InLine is to be commended for this effort that can only have a positive effect on our sport.
Way to go, gang...

The purpose of this meeting is to evaluate the current status of the sport, examine ways to make it better and to create initiatives to attract new participants to the sport. The intent of the invitation list is to gather most or all of the decision makers involved in the sport. Therefore, all of the major inline hockey manufacturers and tournament operators were invited to this meeting. In addition, several inline hockey leagues were invited as well as inline hockey related organizations. The invitation list represents the inline hockey industry quite well. Here is the invitation list:
(1) Manufacturers:
Mission
Tour
Easton Hockey
Reebok/The Hockey Campany
Bauer/Nike Hockey
Hyper
Rink Rat
Labeda
Revision
ProJoy Sportswear
(2) All Tournament Operators
(3) Selected Inline Hockey Leagues
(4) Related Organizations:
NHL
USARS
NCRHA
IHA
PIHA
The confirmation list includes:
(1) Manufacturers:
Mission
Easton
Reebok/The Hockey Company
Hyper
Rink Rat
Revision
** waiting for confirmation from Tour and Labeda
(2) Tournament Operators:
NARCh
State Wars
TORHS
Pacific Cup
TopCat Hockey
Six Pac USA
Coastal Cup
** ECHO and W.A.I.H.S. could not attend due to prior commitments but want to be involved
(3) Several leagues from across the country will attend
(4) Related Organizations:
NCRHA - will attend
USARS - declined to attend
NHL - would like to attend but it is Opening Night for the league/sent letter of support and would like to be involved
IHA & PIHA - no reply
Most of those who could not attend truly support the meeting and want to participate in making the sport better for everyone. In order to create successful initiatives for inline hockey, all of those involved will need to put the interests of the sport first.
We are asking for any positive ideas and suggestions that people have to make the sport better and to attact new participants. These are the two key ingredients to a successful future for our sport.
Hope this helps! Please send us your suggestions, input and feedback to industrymeeting@usahockey.org.

I do not see an invite to MLRH on your list. Any reason why?

Hi Jay,
Thanks for your post. I hope to be able to make it to the meeting. If that's not possible, I hope to find an IHC reader who'd like to report on the meeting for this Web site.
I hope you get some good responses from the entire inline hockey industry. I believe that some serious changes need to be made, and perhaps this meeting is the start.
Sincerely,
Richard Graham
