Hi Folks,

The USA Hockey Olympic Men?s Ice Hockey Orientation Camp is set to begin this coming Tuesday, and the public is welcome -- open sessions will be held Sept. 6-7 at the Colorado Springs World Arena Complex:

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- USA Hockey will host 39 National Hockey League players in the Olympic Men?s Ice Hockey Orientation Camp beginning Tuesday (Sept. 6) at the Colorado Springs World Arena complex. The event is designed to assist in the preparation of the 2006 United States Olympic men?s ice hockey team.

?We are looking forward to the orientation camp as a terrific chance for our staff and players to come together as an important first step in determining the make-up of our 2006 Olympic team,? said Dave Ogrean, executive director of USA Hockey. ?We?re pleased to open up the camp to the general public and excited that area residents will have a chance to see the elite men?s hockey players in our country.?

The public is invited to practice sessions on both Sept. 6 and 7 from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. in the Ice Hall of the World Arena complex. Admission is free.

Players will be divided into two groups, with group one practicing from 8:45 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. and group 2 from 10:45 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Both practices will take place on the Olympic-size rink in the Ice Hall.

Below are the groups for day one of the camp (subject to change without notice). Fans should note that groups are likely to change each day.

Group 1 for Sept. 6
Forwards: Jason Blake, Dustin Brown, Erik Cole, Matt Cullen, Scott Gomez, Chris Higgins, Mike Knuble, Steve Konowalchuk, Richard Park, Mark Parrish, Brian Rolston, Doug Weight.

Defensemen: Brian Berard, Mark Eaton, Tim Gleason, Derian Hatcher, Jordan Leopold, John-Michael Liles, Aaron Miller, Brian Pothier.

Goaltenders: Ty Conklin, Rick DiPietro.

Group 2 for Sept. 6
Forwards: Chris Drury, Brian Gionta, Bill Guerin, Jeff Halpern, Ryan Kesler, Ryan Malone, Mike Modano, Zach Parise, Keith Tkachuk.

Defensemen: Hal Gill, Paul Martin, Brian Rafalski, Andy Roach, Ryan Suter, David Tanabe.

Goaltenders: Robert Esche, Ryan Miller.

NOTES: The 39 players attending the camp represent 21 different National Hockey League teams ... The XX Olympic Winter Games are slated for Feb. 10-26 in Torino, Italy ... Peter Laviolette of the Carolina Hurricanes is the head coach of the 2006 U.S. Olympic men?s ice hockey team.
