The Best Roller Hockey Players in ARIZONA

Proving who the best roller hockey players are in your state comes down to one thing...being selected to play at STATE WARS by the USRHC. The State Wars Hockey staff has had a great time traveling across the United States evaluating all kinds of hockey players. "One of the best trips I have been on was the one in Arizona", said a member of the USRHC. "The Arizona Sports Complex was awesome! The surface was incredible and the hockey players were terrific." With STATE WARS under 2 months away the ARIZONA teams will be ready for battle.

ARIZONA will be all over STATE WARS this summer
DAN "The Man" DIAZ: 1996
Justin "A Bit" Wisner : 1995
Zachary Soucie: 1994
Joseph Pickels: 1993
Johan Bu "Who": 1992
Ryne "And Dine" Rezac: 1991
ALEX ZUNIGA "Mr Extra Effort": 1990
Tyler "Don't Call Me Mr" Wilson: 1989
Chelsea Wilkinson: 1988
Ben Jackson: 1997 (AZ Youngest Super Star)

DAN "The Man" DIAZ: 1996
This Rollerplex Panther scored 5 goals and 6 assists in one Tour Pacific Cup Tournament. Not bad for the 4 foot 55 lbs forward out of Glendale, Arizona. What is so exciting about Mr. Diaz is his high energy style of skating. When you say Motor he sure Motors. He can change directions like a butterfly and he makes things happen on the rink. With his teammates; Bodhi Bilandzija , Jacob "I don't live in" Montana, and Ben "the speed demon" Jackson you can be assurred that ARIZONA's youngest team will be ready for the WAR this summer.

Justin "A Bit" Wisner : 1995
Justin is from the beautiful town of Scottsdale, Arizona. He currently plays for the Arizona Phlyers and he admires the play of NHL Star Jeremy Roenick. Standing in at 4 feet 6 inches tall and weighing a strong 67 lbs, this guy likes to score overtime game winners. With players like Stetson Dircks and Hunter Marzofka this 1995 team will be strong. Another great player to watch is Tanner "I Drive A" Ferrandi and any other player lucky enough to be wearing an ARIZONA State Jersey.

Zachary Soucie: 1994
This guy looks up to Wayne Gretzky but if Wayne Gretzky seen him play Wayne Gretzky might be looking up at him. Zachary Soucie can fly. Playing for the Mission Arizona Stars out of the Phoenix area Zachary is pumped up about going to STATE WARS. He can move so quickly right and left that he'll leave your head spinning like a top. With other great players like Jordan Smith, Zachary "The" Price "Is Right" and Lincoln "I Am The" Mann, the Arizona 1994 team is solid from top to bottom.

Joseph Pickels: 1993
This guy is a STUD! He is totally in control of the floor when he has the puck. He moves great without the puck. He can Pass the puck. He can shoot the puck. There really isn't anything that Joseph "Go Eat A" Pickels can't do. When you think of a player that everyone would love to coach you think of Joey. Being surrounded with players like Austin "Where's My" Shaver, AJ "The Juice" Wilhite, and John Randall "McNally" there is no doubt that the Arizona 1993 can dominate at STATE WARS.

Johan Bu "Who": 1992
Johan Bu is quick to the puck, he communicates very well, but most importantly he works hard. What makes Bu so special is his desire and drive to be the best. His role model is Wayne Gretzky so it is clear that Johan knows where he is heading. In fact, he traveled to Wayne Gretzky's old stomping grounds of Edmonton Alberta Canada for the 2004 Can Am Cup. With other stud players like "See you in" Court Render, the 92 Arizona team is set to compete at STATE WARS in August.

Ryne "And Dine" Rezac: 1991
Ryne Rezac is so cool with the puck that at times it is frozen to his stick. He can control the puck as if it were on a string. He is as smooth as silk but for those players that try to stop him I say good luck. With a stacked team of 1991 players, Arizona has the chance to bring home some gold from State Wars. From Joshua Petchel, Kevin Morgan, to Drew Goldberg they are solid. If your lucky enough to have made it to STATE WARS take some time to watch this team. Go AZ STYLE!

ALEX ZUNIGA "Mr Extra Effort": 1990
When you think of giving out an extra effort award you think of giving it a player like Alex Zuniga. The Tucson, Arizona native left players in the dust when he had them one on one. He was as strong as an OX during the tryouts and was determined to make a name for himself. Playing for the Tucson Heartbreakers and now representing ARIZONA as one of the 10 best roller hockey players in the whole state, Alex is pumped. Alex plays like his hockey idol Steve Yzerman, with guts and determination. With an unbelievable cast of players around him like Khelil Beidoun, Long Duong, Zane Mader, Brennan Murray, Daniel Amimoto, Jonathan Cantin, Austin Natividad, Blake Shaver and Clay Taylor the 1990 AZ team will be a threat for the title.

Tyler "Don't Call Me Mr" Wilson: 1989
The 1989 birth year is one of the largest divisions across the country. With so many players this division will be intense and with great players like Tyler Wilson it will be awesome. This guy will surprise you with his flash and dash. In fact he is from the little town of Surprise, Arizona. He has played at NARCh and enjoys playing for the Rollerplex Panthers. With other great players like Christopher "Don't Take So" Longo and James Anderson the quick and fast Arizona 89's will be in full force at STATE WARS.

Chelsea Wilkinson: 1988
One of the best goalies we have seen so far. Her positioning is incredible and her knack for just making save after save is what makes her so valuable to a team. With lots of girls making their state teams it is evident that female players love to play roller hockey. Chelsea is one of the best. She is a definetly a role model for young girls growing up aspiring to be hockey players. With a solid cast of 1988 birth year players around her such as Frank Brun, Vincent Brown and her goalie counterpart Lee Robert Gerkey this team is set.

Ben Jackson: 1997 (AZ Youngest Super Star)
Ben Jackson is the youngest player representing the State of Arizona at STATE WARS this year and he might be the best pound for pound player the state has to offer. This guy has it all and he is only 55 pounds soaking wet. At a towering 3 feet 10 inches tall this Yuma, Arizona player can put the bisket in the basket. Ben's skating skills are terrific but his vision of the rink is what makes him so good. Watch out next year because Ben Jackson will be NASTY!

ARIZONA will be all over STATE WARS this summer

Over 3,000 players across the country have tried out for their state team this year but only the selected few will get to play STATE WARS. That's right...not everyone gets to play at STATE WARS. You have to make it. If you are thinking about trying out next year please note that everyone has to make it and no player who made it this year is guaranteed a spot. Everyone has to tryout again. That's the great thing about STATE WARS...you get a fair shot every year to make your state team. No politics or behind the back deals. STATE WARS...The FORCE in Roller Hockey!
