Red Deer Inline is starting to get a reputation ? for hosting great tournaments that is!

Red Deer Inline hosted one of three Hockey Alberta In Line (HAIL) summer series tournaments held last summer in addition to the HAIL Regional Championships/NARCh Regional Qualifier Tournament.

The second and final HAIL summer series tournament took place in Red Deer the weekend of June 3-5. A total of 52 teams (including 17 Canada Inline teams from Calgary, Edmonton, Spruce Grove/St. Albert) involving five age divisions (8 & under to 16 & under) participated in 104 games taking place at four different locations in the city which was a task in its self. The 12 & under and 14 & under teams ended up having a recreation or house division as well as a competitive or elite division. Each team played four games over weekend. A good time was had by all based on both verbal and written feedback.

The following feedback are excerpts are from a string of e-mails sent to Red Deer Inline following the tournament:

Thank you Red Deer Inline for your work in putting on an excellent tournament. From Central Alberta & Innisfail Inline we had a great time. Your hard work is appreciated.

Thanks again, Brent/Tracy

I couldn?t agree more. Red Deer Inline, you guys did a terrific job this weekend, especially considering there were games going on in four different arenas on five different surfaces. Well done!!!

Absolutely -- we from Calgary have to take a lesson. We have whined and cried about all the arenas we?ve had to use. This was well done from all aspects. Thanks again.

We at Ponoka Inline agree. You guys did a great job making all the games fun for all. Thank you Red Deer Inline.

As Lori Irvine, one of the tournament organizers, stated after it was all over, ?Again, it was a lot of work, but many people came through and pulled off an incredibly HUGE tourney and lots of smiles by the kids - and why else do we do it.?
