PRESS RELEASE:

Due to delays in construction and matters out of
our control, State Wars Hockey has moved its inaugural STATE WARS event to the Windy City. Yes, STATE WARS will be held August 5th-14th in the Chicago suburb of Bensenville, Illinois at The EDGE Ice Arena. The EDGE is the official training facility for the NHL?s Chicago Blackhawks and is home to the Chicago Steel of the USHL.

The EDGE hockey complex houses 3 NHL sized rinks (200? x 85?) all complete with seamless glass and NHL
boards. The EDGE?s main arena features stadium
seating for 2,500 fans as well as luxury sky-boxes for
sponsors. ?We feel that the EDGE facility is the
perfect fit for STATE WARS. Players want full sized
rinks and an air- conditioned atmosphere, and the EDGE has that and much more?, says National Director Tim McManus. The home to this year?s USA Hockey Tier I Nationals, the EDGE facility knows what it takes to host a great event. ?We are extremely excited to be bringing two of the largest and prolific hockey events of the year to our facility?, said EDGE Director Stan Urban.

There is more to the Bensenville Village location than
just the gorgeous full sized rinks, this 88 acre
property boasts numerous activities that all the
families can enjoy while at STATE WARS. Check out
some of the activities that are available to each
player and parent:

The Legends: 55 Acre Golf Course
The Waters Edge: 2 Swimming Pools
Outdoor Inline Hockey Rink
50 Foot High Climbing Wall
1 1/8 Mile Track
Skate Park
Baseball Field, Volleyball Courts, Basketball Courts,
Soccer Field and even a Children?s Playground

What also makes The Edge Ice Arena so perfect is its
proximity to all the local airports. It is actually 6
miles from the O?Hare Airport, around 30 minutes from
the Midway Airport and just over an hour from the
Milwaukee Airport. The DuPage community also offers
several great hotels for the players to call home
while they participate in STATE WARS. The list of
hotels will be posted very soon on the State Wars
Hockey website.

?John Geils, the Mayor of Bensenville and the
Convention and Visitors Bureau of DuPage County were
instrumental in making sure the 2005 STATE WARS event had a home for its inaugural year. With quick help from the DuPage CVB and the assistance of the community, the players of STATE WARS will be able to play at one of the United States finest hockey facilities?, said National Director Jason Domitrovic.

The three ice rinks of the EDGE facility will be
transformed to roller hockey floors with the addition
of the Brand New EXXESS flooring by IceCourt. With
sponsors like Mission, Tour, Hyper, Labeda, Factory,
Projoy, EXXESS, Phat Tape, and NXI Defense Systems,
STATE WARS is already a huge success and with over
2,500 players currently registered for tryouts so far
you can be assured that STATE WARS is the place to be for the summer of 2005.
