View Full Version : Who's getting hungry for some good hockey?
I know after watching the WCH..I was definitely ready for some good hockey...it was strange to watch a football game right after a hockey game..and it seemed like such a let down...my emotional high was still throbbing looking for some action and football just wasn't cutting it...and I like football..but compared to how wound I get for a good hockey game..football just let me flat, when compared head to head......
I find the recent comments in the press about "who cares" if hockey is not on the horizon(meaning readily accesible on television) intolerable and infuriating....I care!!!!! And I think there are a lot more who feel the same way....a lot more than the pundits who seem to think we are all some sort of dinosaurs who love and appreciate the sport and it's intensity.
Maybe some of this hollow space I am sure I am not alone in feeling, bodes well for a reignition of some good high intensity inline hockey.

The unfortunate thing is that I don't see hockey coming back for a long time. Even when they come to an agreement, the impact on the sport will have been devistating. Plus, does anyone even remember who won last year's Stanley Cup?

Hi MDE3,
A new friend of mine from Brazil is a surfer and a soccer player, and we were both talking about sports today, and I told him about my favorite sport -- hockey -- both inline and ice.
And then I thought how rotten it is that there won't be an NHL season just around the corner. How depressing.
Sincerely,

Remember the sign "Stan needs a tan" and you'll remember who won.

I think the ONLY upswing about the NHL being down and out this year is Hopefully getting to watch the minor leagues, and my favorite... the college games. I remember during the last stoppage when they put on the Bean Pot tourny on ESPN, I told my girlfriend at the time that I had other stuff I had to do just so i could sit there in peace and watch. Well, that "stuff" lasted for a couple evenings and she got annoyed. Needless to say, that ended in a hurry. Sorry about her luck. haha. Go Boston Univ!!!!!

I remember that, too. I like watching the frozen four, now that it is being shown on tv. Good point..I hope they air more college hockey.

Ashame they aren't televising the OSHL in the US.... averaging about 17 goals a game I believe?
4 on 4, no red line, penalty shots galore... from what I hear, it's rather exciting.... ashame that Scott Gomez and Jason Spezza seem to be a pair of the biggest offensive stars in the league.... no Kariya, Forsberg, Iginla, or Federov level players....
*all I want for Christmas is XIHL in Vegas*
