There has been young players in Winnipeg but no scouts? Whats the deal. Inline players cannot be travelling across Canada to be scouted. Scouts need to go all over Winnipeg to check out young players. Please reply at this if you know anything about scouts in Winnipeg

To quote Slapshot...."scouts?"
There are no scouts, anywhere, for college roller hockey.

For young kids to get noticed, kids these days dont want to be just sitting at there local arena, they want to go bigger. Thats why there needs to be more scouting.

The current game of college roller hockey is a club sport. The teams do some of their own recruitment, but few actively recruit and probably don't even scout. There is little budget to pay a coach, let alone scouts touring across the country.
The college game is very exciting right now. It is a full-developed club sport league, affordable for the teams that cannot get funding from their university.
Just my two cents on the matter,

Try to get a copy of American Hockey magazine, the June/July 2003 issue. BIG article on how ice coaches are warming up to the merits of inline hockey.

I'd say that since the focus of college hockey is on education as well as sports, the player themself needs to actively seek out where roller hockey programs exist. Most teams have email addresses available, or websites, or message boards. I would say take a look at the top teams on ncrha.org and their associated member organizations (wcrhl.com, ecrha.net, schl.org, scrha.com, acrha.com, mcrhl.com, rmcrha.com, greatplainshockey.com).
Really if a player wants to continue playing (at the collegiate level), I dont think anyone is going to come looking for you. You need to go looking for them.
I don't know what goes on at tournaments like Narch and Torhs. I'm sure some word-of-mouth recruiting goes on there. Like "Hey, come to our school, you can play on the team."

There is also a message board run by the National Collegiate Roller Hockey Association (NCRHA). You could post there at collegerollerhockey.net/bb. That is where many can find a team by posting the schools they are interested in attending, where to play, etc.

Just to jump in on this subject, Inline Hockey America is in the process of developing an online scouting program. IHA is working with a number of other organizations on this project. Basically, players wishing to get "noticed" will be able to sign up on this web site and list all of their playing information, even include a photo. Then teams looking for players can go on this web site and "scout" players. Teams will also be able to list tryout schedules and any openings they may have. There will be more involved but like I said, right now it's in development.

From experience, teams are more focused on using the little money they have on other things (practice time, pucks, jerseys, coaches, travel for themselves, etc, etc, etc) than spending anything on recruiting.

I am not sure about Winnepeg, but I live here in St. Louis. Here we have the NCAA National Inline Champions in D1-Lindenwood University, Back to Back Championships, D2 UMSL, and D3, 5 Time Running National Champs St Charles Comm College. Contact these programs if you think you have game.
