I guess all 8 teams make it this year? How are they going to do eliminations, 1, or 3? Basically gow is it going to work this year?

Unless my math is off, which could be the case, aren't there 9 teams??

ya there's definatly 9 teams, that's alright yokes we're only three quarters of the way through the season now...lol From what I understand it's 1vs.8, 2vs.7, and so on. Then each team gets reseeded so the highest ranked team plays the lowest. I think each series is also a 2 out of 3 with the 3rd game being a mini game, not sure how long it is but that's what I've heard so far. But you know how all this can change over night.

What do you think of top four make playoffs, 1v4, best of 3 and 2v3 best of three and then the championship is best of five?

I'd like to see top 6 make it. 3vs6 4vs5 and 1&2 get a first round bye. I think it will add that upset factor. And I definatly like the best of 5 idea for the finals.

Right now, How will the best of three series work? Will the higher seeded team get home rink advantage? Will all three games be scheduled for the same weekend (Fri, sat, Sun)? will the mini game be like the old RHI rules, where it is played directly after game 2 with a 10 minute intermission between games... If so, that's a lame way to settle playoffs. whoever wins the first game, can then sit back and play defense for all of game 2, and just exhaust the trailing team. Whoever has the win, has nothing to lose in game 2, because they can rest on the fact that they don't have to play a whole third game. It basically sends the series into a pseudo overtime. you might as well have a shootout at the end of 2 games.

When we got in 2 years ago, that's how they did it. Game on Saturday night, Game on Sunday afternoon, 10 minute Mini game after that if necessary. While you have a point about a team possibly sitting back after winning the first game, it wasn't the case that year. All the first round series were very good and very competitive, one series even went to that decisive mini game.
