In a stunning move, the NJ Bullets and Somerset Wolves pulled of the biggest trades in MLRH history. In a 4 player deal, the Bullets have traded Captain Marc Doherty and Assistant Captain Nick Squitieri in exchange for Felix Guzman and Pete Hamilton. Rumor mongors will be scratching their heads at this one trying to figure out which team got the better of it. It might just be possible that each team improved with this trade.
The Wolves pick up a proven scorer and two time MLRH player of the week in Squitieri. Doherty is a proven leader having captained the Bullets for the last three seasons and possessing great vision, passing skills and shot.
The Bullets have completed there transformation as it severs ties with its past and looks forward to a bright future. Felix Guzman is largely regarded as an all around defenseman with leadership skills, great stickhandling and accurate shot. Pete Hamilton adds size, strength and skill as the Bullets shore up there defensive line. According to Coach AJ Wertz:
"We had to give up quality to get quality. There isn't a player on our team or the league that does not respect the jobs Nick and Marc did with the Bullets. In return we get two exciting players in Felix and Pete who give us the physical presence we have been looking for and with serious skill."
In an unrelated transaction, the NJ Bullets announce the signing of Goaltender CJ Stevens.
