• North Carolina’s Pinehurst Parks and Rec's Spring Inline Hockey Clinics and Leagues

    North Carolina’s Pinehurst Parks and Rec is offering spring inline hockey clinics and leagues for 2013.



    Spring Clinics
    The Pinehurst Parks and Recreation Department in Pinehurst, North Carolina is offering FREE inline hockey clinics for boys and girls ages 5-18. These clinics are for beginners and advanced beginners to work on specific skills to improve their game.

    Participants will need to bring helmet with protective mask, elbow pads, knee pads, shin guards, mouthpiece, protective cup/pelvic protector, hockey gloves, hockey stick and inline skates.

    All clinics will be held at Rassie Wicker Park located at 10 Wicker Drive in Pinehurst. Clinic dates are February 1, 8, 15 and 22.

    Ages 5-10 are from 6 to 7 p.m. Ages 11-18 are from 7 to 8 p.m.

    Registration is allowed onsite the night of the clinics but pre-registration is encouraged at www.pinehurstrec.org.

    Spring League
    This league is for girls and boys to have FUN while learning the basic fundamentals and skill of inline hockey. Four age divisions will be offered: 5-7, 8-10, 11-13 and 14-18 (18 year olds have to be currently enrolled in high school). Age will be determined as of Jan. 1.

    All games and practices will be held at the hockey rink at Rassie Wicker Park. Mandatory equipment includes a helmet with protective mask, elbow pads, kneepads, shin guards, a mouthpiece, a protective cup/pelvic protector, hockey gloves, a hockey stick, and inline skates.

    Anyone interested in coaching should indicate so on the registration form and fill out a coach’s application.

    Registration is currently open and will close Friday, February 22 at 5pm. Parents meeting will be held Tuesday, Feb. 19 at 6 p.m. at Village Hall. Coaches meeting/draft will be held Tuesday, Feb. 26 at 6 p.m. at Village Hall. Mandatory Evaluation Day for All Players and Coaches will be held on Saturday, Feb. 23 at 10 a.m. for 5-7 year olds; 10:45 a.m. for 8-10 year olds; 11:30 a.m. for 11-13 year olds and 12:15 p.m. for 14-18 year olds.

    The cost of the program is $20 for Pinehurst residents or $40 for non-residents.
