The Buffalo Wings Roller Hockey Organization will host a roller hockey marathon on Saturday, March 5 and Sunday, March 6, 2011, in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record TM for the longest roller hockey game. The event will raise funds for Carly’s Club at Roswell Park Cancer Institute and will take place at the Kenan Center Arena, located at 433 Locust Street in Lockport.
The current record of continuous play between two teams stands at 25 hours and 20 minutes, and the Buffalo Wings Roller Hockey Organization will attempt to break that record. All proceeds from the event will benefit pediatric cancer research and patient care programs through Carly’s Club.
In addition to the marathon, the event will offer attendees a Wellness Fair, Chinese Auction and child-friendly activities. Doors will open Saturday at 9 am with an open skate for the kids and at 10am the puck will drop for the start of the marathon.
For more information please call Eric Haak, President and CEO of the Buffalo Wings, (716) 903-2658; or Cheryl Walsh, event chairperson; (716) 512-0931.
