Richard Adams, in 1/14/00 Hockey News in article regarding future of hockey, stated "one possibility for 2010 is that any number of minor league hockey markets may experiment and ultimately adapt some modified version of hockey not unlike indoor football... give them the speed, hitting, and more scoring... game scores might be 22-15..you use fewer players, a smaller suface.. you create a hybrid product that incorporates the skill and excitement of hockey, but in a non-traditional way."
Nothing mentioned about goal nets in the boards, but it does sound a bit like this new inline pro league.

This so called new pro league sounds alittle too shadey to be true, there hasn't been anything but rumors and with the history of one person on this board you can never tell what is true or not. ie. the cage or ozarks hockey league
Does that ring a bell for anybody? Look at ice hockey right now there are several new pro leagues starting up this year (FHL, and WHA2) Those announcements have been make to the public and then put into newspapers. They wern't announced on a messageboard.

Dont think anythings been announced here either at this point - just people hearing rumours and asking questions. I'm sure when and if this new league reaches it's agreements with all involved - formal announcements will be made. If not then it's just another message board rumour to be treated with all the credibility it deserves lol.

Suffice it to say that it appears that some credible people are working hard to make things happen. But that's is not a guarrantee of success either - all that could be said is that it appears that an earnest effort is in place to develop a "pro" forum for skilled roller hockey players to showcase their talents and come closer to earning a living doing what they love.

Hopefully for all concerned and the sport in general, it will be a successfull effort.
