I would just like to give a high five to a very special person - Jonathan Huck, Chairman of The Eastern Collegiate Roller Hockey Association (part of the CRHL).

His message (link below) is an inspiration to everyone who is trying to make an effort to benefit life and is NOT turning a profit, whether it be through coaching, working at your rink's concession stand for minimum wage, reffing for silly money, or running a huge not-for-profit organization almost completly because you love it and so that others in the future have a foundation (which, unfortunately, many will try to profit from). Believe me, THIS I can relate to.

This young man spends relentless hours commited to the well being of the world of Roller Hockey. However, you do not have to be a fan of roller to relate to his message. Like many of you out there, this man is truely a "WINNER" in my book.

Please cut/paste link to his letter entitled "Thank You" on the ECRHA message board:

I have had limited contact with Jonathan but would agree with you. Roller hockey is much better with Jonathan Huck.

Thanks Jonathan

Hi,

I have to agree with you two. In addition to Huck's great accomplishments with the ECRHA and collegiate inline hockey in general, he scores a mean phantom goal :)

Sincerely,

Hey,

Well, now that we've got this ball rolling, I'm going to take a turn at a push. Well, it might be more of a shove...

Being involved with inline hockey myself for a good deal of time now, I've realized that John Huck does a lot of behind the scenes stuff that people don't even know about. As a volunteer in a sport who's roots have been torn apart by instant-millionaire wannabe's, Huckie needs to be given a LOT of credit where credit is due for his part in the collegiate roller hockey scene and its overall success thus far.

Here's to the best of luck in the future Hucker, and may I continue to say your name without the constant urge to slightly alter it to my personal, allbeit obscene, tastes. /wtimages/icons/laugh.gif
