Yesterday I was in the sports office and my sup tossed me a California State Games informational entry booklet. Well I'm the Hockey Director at a So Cal YMCA, and I was thinking about taking the cream of the crop and entering a team. But these are YMCA players I'm talking about, these kids probably couldn't compete with NARCh, or Tour Pacific Cup. My question is to players who have played in these tournaments, what was the competition like?

I don't want to win, I want to be competitive.

Any info appreciated!

Thanks,
Joe Macias

Depends what division you enter. Silver is probably a good bet, as it's a beginner level division, mostly for teams who want to be competitive, but dont have the exprience and/or skill to play any higher.

Turns out that California doesn't have subdivisions. So, nobody has any idea on talent levels?

Well I just found out that the qualifier is a Six Pac tourney in Lake Elsinore. I've played Six Pac before and the competition was tough, but that was 4 years ago. I guess we'll give it a shot...
