I play ice and roller but I havn't skated roller in year or so. So I was wondering if that TUUK rocker chassis was any good since I will be switching back and forth from ice to roller almost everyday. Or should I just stick with the HiLO?

If your looking for ease of transition, I think Rocker would definitely be the way to go. But if your looking for PERFORMANCE, definitely HiLo is the ONLY way to go.
But that's just my thoughts.

So you think that HiLo's would give me better speed and quicker turning?

The shorter the distance between the front and back axles, the better turning ability. We have had variations of this concern discussed before on these boards, and I recall one single guy who really loved his rocker chassis, but other than that one guy, I have never met anybody who would tell you the rocker chassis is worth a dime...go with the hi-lo concept.

Yes I do believe so, I just transfered from a TUUK Rocker chassis, after 2 years, to an ordinary HiLo and my level of play just went up a few notches. But then again, maybe that's just me.
You should try them both though before deciding because each has its own skating style.

Personally, I wear a hi-lo, but I have heard some rave reviews about the Rocker. One ref told me he couldn't imagine going back to a hi-lo after skating on the tuuk. He was an ice hockey guy from way back, so it stands to logic that ice hockey players like the rocker. I would imagine if you are a better ice hockey skater, it would be beneficial, but this is all really conjecture.

I am the One guy who loved his chasis and since my opinion is not worth anything on this board I will say this... After spending a few hours of e-mails and phone calls to Smart hockey and speaking directly to the inventor of the rocker he came up with the chasis set up I needed to be just as fast on the rocker as I was on the hi-lo. It was a concern of mine when I started the rocker use because I lost some speed and now I am just as fast as I was on the hi-lo. Send me a message and I will give you the set up. I am an ice and roller player so I switch back and forth alot. some days I do both back to back and the rocker has worked well for me..

hey, rhrl-dude, I did not mean to offend the one guy...I noted him (you) as the exception to the general consensus of my locale that the Tuuk rocker chassis was one of those developments that seemed good on paper, but didn't really do anything for anybody. That was truthfully the consensus...
If your unique physical ability and/or ice/roller situation causes it to work for you then great, with no criticism from me.
sorry...

Hey Danny,
I didn't mean that toward you.. The people who it was meant for know who they are. Its all good!!
I love my chasis but its like anything else some people will do better with other things. I did skate faster at first with the Hi-Lo but after talking with Gard Mayer (inventor of the chasis) we came up with the wheel set up to get my speed back. Since then it seems to be working just as well.. Its great for me because I switch form ice to roller alot. Sometimes I have back to backs and have to go from roller to ice within minutes so it has made the transition seamless..
Anyways Thanks and talk to you soon.. You still doing girls teams?? We are begining our practices this week.. The girls finally finished their ice season!!

Actually I will second the vote for the Rocker, I could not imagine ever going back to a flat frame like a Hi-Lo. My skating, and game in particular have definately improved since I switched. I guess it is a matter of opinion, and some will like one more than another, but for guys making the transition back, and forth between ice, and roller, the Rocker does seem an easier one.
You should really try them both, and see which you prefer, as they both have their merits.

what about if you're used to plaing hockey with fitness skates? I'm not hardcore player, so which chassis would be better for me?
