ironman tourny in harrisburg Pa

Is anyone going to the ironman tourny in harrisburg? And, if so, does anyone know if they may cancel it due to the possible snow storm that is due on Saturday (the day of the tourny). Thanks.

I would bet on the tournament taking place. Jay won't know what's really going to happen technically until Saturday morning, and by that time it will be too late to cancel. Obviously you can watch these weather forecasts but you just never know until it happens.

I'll see you there if the weather cooperates with my drive. Not sure who I'm playing for yet. If I find out anything else regarding the weather or otherwise, I'll post it here.

I know it's probably just tough luck, but they are forecasting a big storm here for friday night through saturday (I'm in Maryland). If, b/c of it, we simply couldn't get up to Harrisburg it would be a shame......

Hey,

I'm just outside of Philadelphia so I can understand your plight. I will be talking to the guy running the show tomorrow sometime, so I'll get the final word from him. But as I said, he's already told me he really has no choice but to go with having the tourney, because evidently there are teams coming from all over the tri-state area. I've made the drive out there before in the snow, and it's really not all that bad if you have a well-eqipped car. It's the mad truckers you have to watch out for.

I tried calling the Sports Center in Harrisburg but just ended up leaving a message for the guy there. He never called me back. He also said the schedule would be available today. Have you spoken with him?

Sorry about the delayed response, I just got in. Colleges have off this week and you know how that goes. I haven't spoken to anyone in a day or two. I am anticipating problems getting to the rink because of the incoming storm.

I will talk to somebody today, Friday, about the situation. I will post the latest information about the tournament today, so look for it on this thread.

We pulled out as well. Didn't want to take the chance of getting stuck in bumblef--- Pennsylvania and not be able to get back to our women for New Years... :-)
