IHC Readership

Hi Folks,

I found something interesting when I checked the "Who is online" feature on the IHC Message Board tonight once I got home from my game. To me, it definitively shows that there are far more IHC fans than those who register for the Message Board. /wtimages/icons/cool.gif

Below is a list of Users that have been active within the last 10 minutes. Users who have changed themselves to invisible in their profile will not show up.

Richard: I regularly check the "who's online" feature while on message boards and almost always there are at least as many unregistered users than registered. In fact, the number of unregistered users is probably closer to double that of those registered. Interesting, huh?

Hi Joy,

Actually, you're greatly mistaken. I guess you didn't read my recent post about how many people actually visit Inline Hockey Central monthly. The number of unregistered users of the message board is closer to TEN times the number of registered users.

rich speaking of membership dont you love it when you see like 15-20 registered users all online on IHC, thats when there is a flurry of new messages :-)

Hi Mission,

I like a lot of action on the message boards, as long as people are treating each other with a modicum of respect. When things degenerate, as they occasionally do, I feel like a babysitter, and that gets old fast. lol

Hi Joy,

Well, I have to look at it another way... if people were to think that only about 3,600 people visited IHC each month after five years, that would be pretty sad.

Considering IHC's had as many as 18,000 distinct users visit the site in one month, your estimate, if taken as fact by potential advertisers, would be a killer.

So, while I value your appreciation for the site, I have to set you straight, or go straight to the poorhouse! /wtimages/icons/shocked.gif /wtimages/icons/smile.gif

9:23 AM there are 13 nonregistered users online, and 4 registered users... who knew?
