Is there any damage done to the wheels by skating on concrete or blacktop. Should one be concerned about the wear out? How about asphalt deposit, will it affect the performance if the same skates are later used indoors ?

Using any wheels on asphault will pay their toll in time. If you use soft wheels they will die a lot faster hard whells a little slower. If youre gonna play on asphault use a 82 or higher Durometer wheel.

If you plan to skate a lot outsides you need to get a higher end pair of outdoor wheels, trust me, you'll go through cheaper wheels very quickly. As for preformance I have never noticed any deteriation from skaing outside on my skates. I do use different sets of bearings for the wheels, and clean them up after skating outside. To be honest I have gotten more gunk and dirt in my skates from skating indoors, on a VERY dirty sport court. lol

Outdoor wheels use a 84 a durometer or higher on concrete in order to get good wear, on ashphalt in the cooler/warm months , I suggest a 80a durometer , in the hot climate on ashphalt drop down to a 76/78a durometer to avoid slipping out on tight and fast turns.
