Weren't these the skates that were supposed to revolutionize the sport? What happened, in your opinion?

That would be the ones. I have no idea, personally, as a player, I've never skated on them so I can't and won't say why they didnt "revolutionize" the sport because I dont know. I'm a Tour Kid and always will be. I actually picked these skates up as part of a package I bought when I bought a rink from austrailia so, I dont really have a need for them and I figured I'd try and sell them. You probably remember the sale of that rink, it was generated from this board. ttyl,

Not bad for somebody starting out, $50 for a pair of skates. I never have used them (I am a mission kid) but maybe you could put them up on ebay. I'd imagine someone starting a new rink could use something to fill their proshop up.

Ive been a Vform user for as long as theyve been around. Im a goalie, and I love them for that. They allow great side to side push and no slippage. The older models(16degree) seemed a bit slower than conventional skates. But the hi low NEXED 8 degree are fast enough.
The first model had problems with the wheels coming off if the puck hit you(a problem for a goalie) but they change the configuration in later models.
I really love my skates:)Just bought my 6th pair.
I know you didn't ask me but I did try them and so did several "A" players I knew (not to mention a whole league of PBH pro's) - they push ok when flat on the rink, but as you make a toe push at the finish of your stride, the extreme outward angle of the lead wheel would slip and down you go. The harder the skater the worse it was.

How were the boots on the v-forms? Would it be possible to put a different chassis on it and end up with a decent skate?
03-12-2003, 11:54 PM
I do agree w/ MDE, Ivtried them on once and couldnt use em, I know a few of my friends that have used the boot and a different frame and they're happy w/ it. I just dont like anything but tour personally. I got these skates in a package deal and I have nothing I can use them for, that's why im selling them.

if anyone wants to buy some individually, I'll sell them, 2 pairs for $100.

dont see why not nobody I know complained about the boot. They looked a lot like the Tour boot - like the old 8000 series - different decor but construction looked similar.
THE CENTIPEDE was asking me about a good package deal.

LOL. He'll have 10 extra pair, though!

My friend had the skates, and said he had no problem with the boot.

I want a pair but I have no $$$. I might be able to get some soon though, how much for 1 pair?

$65 including shipping
Thing is, when was the last time you saw, what I call, an "Elite Travel Player" skating in VForm Skates? Answer, a long time ago.
House league players? All the time. Why, lots of inventory everywhere.
The concept sounds great, to the uninformed buyer. Problem is, the Rocker Chasis did the job better. Thanks to Gard Mayer.

I know 1 awesome travel player who wears V-Forms he is the fastest person I know! And V-Forms are sopposed to run slower and turn better!
03-18-2003, 05:20 PM
If he is that good in V-Forms, I'd hate to see him in some high quality skates. lol

Fluid V-Forms. "If he's that goon in V-Forms imagine how he would be in good skates" Yea thats what I was thinking, I cant imagine
I believe Nexed made the "Fluids" which were available with either the 2 degree or 8 degree chassis and are still available at "Hockey Giant" maybe. The 2 degree chassis is one of the fastest chassis I have ever seen and one of the best kept secrets out there - cant speak for the 8 degree though. The "V-Form" skates were only available in a 16 degree chassis. Although "V-form" was the patent holder for that style of chassis, and the parent company of Nexed, the new line of skates and their chassis introduced in 2001 by "Nexed" was quite different from the original "V-Form" skates.

Do V-Forms fit true to shoe size or like Bauers? Once I get some money I will buy a pair, that is if they are still for sale.
05-02-2003, 05:15 AM
Is that what they were supposed to do???? I thought PBH was s'posed to do that!!!!!
05-18-2003, 07:56 PM
Do you have any 2-degree models in size 11? (I tried to call (disc) and email (no reply), did I miss this boat? thanks
05-18-2003, 11:32 PM
I think he is talking about the older models... I could be wrong though.
Yes these were the original 16 degree V-forms I believe, not the Nexed Fluids or Stingers. Try Hockey Giant(www.hockeygiant.com) $140.00 and they still show stock on size 11's in the stinger 2 degrees.
05-19-2003, 07:08 AM
If he was selling Stingers that cheap I would buy a couple of pairs:-)
05-19-2003, 10:33 AM
yes, they were the older models

08-03-2003, 06:47 AM
