Dang the people at my local rink are lazy or something, my black pants everytime i fall i come up and they look like their grey, there's so much darn dust there. How do u guys keep ur wheels clean? I've seen the sonic grip juice thing, but does it work? or can i make my own formula for keeping wheels clean? thanks

Hi Kaptain,
I tried Sonic's Grip Juice a couple of games ago and was impressed. It takes the gunk off your wheels, and it dries fast so you could even use it between periods if you have enough time. And yes, Sonic supports Inline Hockey Central.

I use the grip juice as well. It works very well. Not only does it keep your wheels grippy, but it also has some kind of anti-static property that cuts the amount of dust that sticks to your wheels/bearings/frame considerably.
I swear by the stuff...
also, it doesn't soften your wheels like rubbing alcohol (which I used to use).

I used to use WinDex, and it worked pretty good. The only problem is extended use ruins your urethane(sp)

Hi Geki,
I tried beer. It didn't work. It attracted dirt and wasted good beer. Go Sonic. /wtimages/icons/wink.gif

Hi Kaptain,
That's great, and that's how this site is supposed to work. The site is created to be of service to inline hockey players. In return, they appreciate the service and support the advertisers that support the site. I wish it happened more frequently. Thanks, I really appreciate it!

Hi AbRaCaDaVeR,
GREAT user name! LOL.
The best thing about using Windex is that you can see through your wheels if you use it enough /wtimages/icons/wink.gif

The grip juice is worth it, me and my brother have been using it for two years, and its great, espically for the price. And no Sonic did not pay me to say that, but I would like to be (wink wink, nudge nudge.) lol

clean the floor!!
- we have had trouble finding "grip juice" at our regular hockey shops for a while - and I agree it works really well - although nothing will overcome that much dust totally.
If you are caught in a bind and need to find something cheap and quick - a dilute solution of vinegar in water will work. Mix about 5 :1 so the acidity of the vinegar wont do much damage, but it will cut through contaminents adhered to the wheels and restore some grip. Caustion though - continued use may cause the wheel surfaces to harden. Use the grip juice as first choice.

Hi MD,
The guy who created Grip Juice is a buddy from my beach hockey days in Santa Monica, Cliff Chi. He also created a bearing-removal tool that is actually in the Smithsonian Institution because of its artistic design and functionality. His is the kind of company that inline hockey players need to support, because it was created by an inline hockey player for inline hockey players, out of the creator's love for the game. You can't beat that kind of commitment.
Cliff, if you're reading this, I'll cruise back up to Santa Monica and skate rings around you at the beach. Let's rock! /wtimages/icons/wink.gif

Here is where I get my grip juice at, since it is also hard to find locally for me.

Your totally right these guys are super lazy. My wheels are super clean, but damn my pants are freaking dusty. Almost looks like I play ice hockey because there's so much dust on my equipment it looks like ice. Used the Grip Juice tonight. Good Stuff. I recommend.

Hi Kaptain,
Look on the bright side... All that dust probably makes the rink softer to fall on. lol

if they need it bad, rubbing alcohol works pretty well. Repeated use will ruin your wheels, but once in a while it seems to work okay. I've heard that cheap vodka works well too, but I've never tried it.

I can see it now, WRXRiot says a lot for me, a little for the wheels, a lot for me a little for the wheels. Taking care of two jobs at once. lol

bhahaahaha........... then after half the bottle, it's like......
"alott fer teh wheeelz" (as i pour it all over the wheels, bearings, floor)
"more fer meee" (accidentally pour it on myself)
repeat until the wheels are cleaned to satisfaction, or until I pass out...... haha

When you really think about it, it would make sense that it works better than rubbing alcohol, it's less harsh, so it doesn't eat up your wheels as bad, and it tastes good. How can you go wrong?

Cheap Vodka tastes good !?!?!?!?!?!?! Maybe its because I live in a fraternity house and drink it way too much, but Bartons or Taaka or any of the others that aren't Kettle One or Belvedere or Stoli Gold taste like the Mission M-1 performs (!!!*censored*!!!)
