Does anyone know of any good deals on skates? I'm looking for a size 11, loking to spend $150 before skipping and handling, willing to go higher if I absolutley have to, I really like Tour skates but have used Mission before, also tried Bauers and Nikes, neither are wide enough for my feet, I'm interested in the Nexeds if anyone kows anything about them. Thanks.

On the pants I highly recommend the new Hyper Titaniums, they are my favorite pants. If you to epuck.com they have a little tour about them and its features, I gurantee you will be impressed by them. The lowest that I have seen them was $85 on hockeyking.net. And I am going to search to see if I can find any deals on skates for you right now.

Ok, I got a few, I found the Nexed Stingers for $150 with free ground shipping, I've never used them but have heard good things about them from people on this board.

I also found some Tour 962's for $130.

Do you mind vibes, I personally do not like them, but if you have skated on them and dont mind them I know a lot of deals.

Okay...this is really absurd, but:
The new line of skates and pants from Gear is really weird...they have the same five models that everybody else has, the same economy model up to the top-of-their-line...
Have you seen these things?
Four of us here locally have bought these babies, and we still can't believe it...
"Stubbies" for $39.95..."Big Daddies" for $59.95...our players have had theirs for anywhere from 2 games to 25 or more, and we're all still trying to find out why they are so cheap... (hockeygiant.com)
not-too-heavy, reasonable balance, of course the durability factor is still unknown, but everything seems to be okay...good materials, good stiffness, wheels, bearings...who knows...for everybody other than the elite pro, these guys might be just the item to revolutionize the industry.
Those old "red stripe" Gear pants go for $19.95, too. I prefer the new Hyper lines myself, but, hey, $19.95 for gosh' sake.
Good luck, I'll let you know how my Stubbies work out over time...and I really like the name "Stubbies," ya know...

I was thinking about getting a pair just to use outside because that is a very good deal, $40 and $60 for brand new skates. I mean wheels and bearings will cost you that much. I am curious to see how nice they are for that amount of money.

I'm tellin' ya, we are amazed so far...keep in mind, have you ever met anybody who will admit that the money they spent for A $300-500 pair of skates was a mistake...nah, you drop a bundle on skates, and you're gonna tell everybody how great they are...the guys (myself included) that tell you the $39 skates "are pretty good" have nothing to gain by lying...the worst we'd be out would be that $39 if we admit we goofed...
go for it, you really can't go wrong.

Danny,
Saw the skates the other day. I figured they must suck for such a cheap price, but from what you say i might have to try some, let me know how yours work. Thanks.
Also thanks to everyone else who has responded.

I know I wouldnt recommend them to anyone who hasnt used them.
Have a brand new pair of Nexed stinger boots ( I wore them for 10 minutes) they are 10,5's (I wear 11's in almost everything else) I also have a pair of used Nexed chassis (2 deg), that fit that boot. Bearings - probably. I used the new chassis to mount on my son's Grafs - size 9's. There is nothing wrong with the old chassis, except age and normal wear and tear. - Very reasonable. My info is on my profile.

MDE3,
I am looking forward to hearing about the $39-$59 skates on hockey giant. I am interested in your sktes but I have never used Nexed skates, how is the width compared to a tour skate? wider, thinner, about the same? Anyone with any opinions on Nexed's I would appreciate your opinion.
