Hello, i am on the junior wings team that currently won the gold medal at winternationals. At the tournament we played some of the top teams in the nation, including the mission snipers, anaheim mission bulldogs, and the armadillos. After we got home from vegas people have been talking trash about us from different teams around the nation. They say that we are not going to bring any medals home in the summer at finals. Well i disagree because i think that we have the best team around. Everyone in the organization is hardworking and dedicated to the team. I believe that all of our teams have a very good chance at gold at the finals. Go wings.

"Mortal Kombat on Sega Genesis is the best game ever."
"I disagree. Mortal Kombat is a very good game, but I think Donkey Kong is the best game ever made."
"Donkey Kong sucks!"
"You know something, YOU SUCK!!!"
Trash on the internet is just that... trash... ignore 'em... Congrats on gold, good luck in the finals...

yea, trash, cause we all know that super techmo bowl is the best game ever!!
seriously though, i think most people just talk to stir others up and see what they have to say. i just wish that all trash talkers would identify themselves or what they have to say isn't worth much. thats just my opinion and what do i know??

Look whos talking buddy, speaking of trash, youre the closet to the trailer park yourself...although you are tough to move in front of the net when youre 50 pounds soakin wet, everyone still puts up the effort, but please go easy on the little people eh? were sensitive at times....but i have to agree, techmo superbowl for nintendo like 8 years ago is the bomb....the bills are my team...cant beat em....but fryer youre a goon, and a geek, and im sure dante can agree with me on that one...lol...
but on the other hand buffalo jr wings boy, you just won the gold medal and if anyones gonna talk smack about you winning it and how you guys suck, then howd you win the gold? if you guys were terrible, you woulda never made the playoffs nor even medaled, and you guys did, so right now until prooven otherwise, youre sittin pretty...good job buddy, and good luck at summers......

Buffalo Mission Wings have a descent team but is that kid from the Stars playing with you guys at Summers? You guys had a great run and played really good. Also beat our team in a close Semi final game. We will see how you guys do in the summer. After that then we'll see how good you guys really are. When teams have their full rosters and when all the teams are there as well....you guys are on the top right now and Congrats..
Good Luck

Wings don't need a sponser. They make all their profit by holding "tryouts" every two months.

I hope your not the same Barclay who e-mailed me in the past, because that kid was cool and if it the same person, I would like to know what changed you. I don't know what your problem is with the Wings, but don't make stuff up just to trash them. I'm sure there's enough true stuff that you can trash them with but the Wings do not hold tryouts ever two months. In fact, it's been years since the Wings held organized tryouts where they charged a fee and when they did, the fees that they charged were in line with any other organization that charges to tryout.
If you have a grudge against the Wings, why don't you share it with everyone here so they can see where your hostility is coming from, otherwise keep your fairy-tales to yourself.

Over the past two years the wings have held a number of tryouts for many different age levels. If the talent in Buffalo is as good as I think it is, there is no reason for more then one tryout a year.More recently, the Wings held a tryout last June, November and now an upcoming tryout in April. All of which did and will cost upwards of $30. What is that money used for, rink rental? Come on. I hold no grudge against the wings what so ever. It is my opinion that the organization is on a steady decline. I have my say in this sport too.

Thanks Barclay09, now we're getting somewhere. As you stated in your reply, the Wings have not held tryouts every 2 months as you said in your original post. I don't believe the Wings were running a scam. The tryout schedule you mentioned was more a result of mismanagement, of which, yes, I would have to be partly to blame. But as a player, if you pay a fee to tryout and don't make the team, don't pay to tryout again. Many times, clubs hold tryouts at different times of the year because certain players are only available to tryout at certain times of the year. Also, maybe all the players who attended a specific tryout weren't at the level that the club was looking for and elected to hold one or more tryouts in an attempt to find quality players.
There's a few things going on here. First, some of these tryouts were for different age-level travel teams. Second, the Wings have had a terrible time trying to find someone to effectively lead the travel program. I can say this because I was the guy looking for that "special someone." Everytime we thought we found someone, something would happen and we would have to start from scratch. The new person would come in and they want to do things their own way in an effort to straighten things out.
Consistency and continuity are two big problems with the Wings program. Some of it is their own doing and some not. You are right about a couple of things. The Wings, and most organizations, charge people to tryout for two main reason: 1). A tryout fee tends to weed out players who may not be quite as serious about the level of play the team is looking for and, 2). Tryouts are used to generate revenue, revenue which is used to pay operating expenses among other things. You are absolutely correct in saying that a team can abuse the tryout program.
As far as you opinion about the Wings, you definitely have a right to it. In fact I don't necessarily disagree with it. The Wings and I have parted company from and employer/employee relationship for a number of reasons which I won't go into here. I have not always seen eye-to-eye with the Wings owner/manager. But I truely do not believe they are trying to do anything malicious here. This is America and you can voice your opinion, I just hope you will be more accurate about your criticisms in the future.
