You young guys who still have your dreams got me thinking. I'm forty years old and can still play a bit but my days as an elite player are over. There are plenty of teams 40+ on ice that still play competitively. Are there many seriously competitive inline (mature)teams around? I don't know of any local (Chicago) teams. I do know a few decent players mid to late 30's in the area but not enough to field a full quality team.

I'd like to do some road trips with a team of guys my age for a change.

That sounds like it would be a pretty good idea for some of the older players. Now that I think about it I dont think I've ever seen a 30+ team at a travel tourney, there should be, as long as I could still play I would defiently want to continue playing at a older age. Good luck Clark!

For the first time, USAHIL held the "senior" division (over-40) at the Inline Cup in Las Vegas last September...they are going to do this again this year. If you don't have a team, they also will take individual registrations and place you on a team...this is the most rewarding tournament that I have ever played in...We Polar Bears placed sixth (out of 6) last year, but it was one of those, "if these three plays had been different..." we might have finished 2nd or 3rd...makes you look forward to this year all the more...

Hope to see all you over-40 guys there...and, incidentally, if we could get 30 guys over-50 to sign up and request it, USAHIL would host an over-50 division and make up the four teams geographically..THAT would really be fun...

Over 50, thats ambitious in my opinion. Although I do know a few guys over 50 that still hang tough in the adult c leagues locally.

please, please, please...if you have the ability to let them know about the above...like the guy said about "chasing around the 30-year-old guys," when you're over 40, I spend most of my rec league chasing some pretty good 18-22 year olds, and I'm 51...slow, but steady gets you a few here and there...it's fun, specially 'cause I coach most of these guys, but "what I would give to play with/against guys my own age..."

You hook these (over-50) guys up to this opportunity, I guarantee they will be in your debt forever...

Thanks for the info Danny. I may end up in Vegas again this year. If the Polar Bears need a guy let me know.
