I don't want this to be a "bashing one or the other" scenario, but:

I am interested in other's opinions comparing how USA Hockey Inline (USAHIL) and USA Roller Sports (USARS) are each promoting and developing the girls/women side of the inline hockey house...and you can throw NARCh in there if you want to...

from my perspective,

1. Most organizations have adopted a "wait & see attitude." This has produced a chicken/egg cycle: no girls programs develop because there is nothing for them to do...the governing organizations don't provide any opportunities, because there are no girls' teams.

I believe the governing/organizing bodies (to include ECHO, Pac/Atlan CUP, NARCh, TORHS, etc) must adopt a "if we offer it, they will come" attitude, and make it happen...

2. We applaud USAHIL's comittment to Girls' 12's, Girls 17's, and Women (13 & older) divisions in their national championships.

3. We applaud USARS' effort regarding a women's (14 & older) national team program.

4. We applaud that USAHIL includes girls equally with the boys in opportunity of participation in their 17's and 14's National Team Development Program.

Are there any other local/national/regional organizational developments out there we would like to know about??? (Patty: will Rinko de Mayo host girls' teams this year???)

Let us know what info/opinions you have...and thanks for playing!
