Hi Folks,
Sadly, I will not be hosting a third annual Inline Hockey Central Athletes of the Year Awards ceremony for 2000. (I hosted the first awards ceremony when InLine Hockey News existed.) Due to the costs involved, I simply can't afford it.
On the bright side, I do intend to host a "virtual" 2000 Inline Hockey Central Athletes of the Year Awards ceremony right here on site. I'll offer similar award categories as last year (listed below), and am open to suggestions for other awards to add to the program.
I'd also like to receive ideas from IHC's readers on how I can make the 2000 Inline Hockey Central Athletes of the Year Awards exciting and fun.
Here are the 10 awards from the 1999 IHC Athletes of the Year Awards:
Male Amateur Player of the Year
Female Amateur Player of the Year
Pro Player of the Year
Tournament of the Year
Game of the Year
Executive of the Year
Ambassador of the Year
Coach of the Year
Product of the Year
Team of the Year
As there was no viable professional league in 2000, perhaps we can give Pro Player of the Year to a former RHI or MLRH player who has done the most to help grow the sport in 2000?
Other categories I'm open to adding include:
Referee of the Year
Collegiate Player of the Year
