As i concluded wasting away a perfectly beautiful day here in NY, I came across the updated TORHS site.
It was a bit suprising when they claimed to have "nearly 200 teams," on the homepage. Kind of shocked me truthfully. So I did what any anal retentive guy would do, I counted, even double checked to be certain. Actual # of teams at their Finals: 143. Now my math skills ended at Calc and it was never my strong suit, however I can add pretty well. 143 is a LONG way off of 200. If I told my girlfriend who's weight shall remain private for my own safety (its close to TORHS though)that she weighed nearly 200 lbs..I'd be typing from a traction bed in the hospital..143/200=71.5%Example: If I owed you $143, I may give you $150 when it comes time to settle..but I can assure you it wouldn't be $200 and we'll call it even. Its not hard to figure out what sounds better to the sponsors, 200, or 143..tell someone 200 and they put it up there with NARCh, 143..well about half the teams would be the train of thought..
The rest of my wasted time
USA Inline: 64, represents youth divisions only
AIHRS: 102
NARCh: 274
I'm not out to belittle anyone, however there's just a big difference between saying you have about 200 teams..and 143..and we all expect a bit of a stretch in #'s..I'd have no beef with NARCh saying 300 or TORHS 150..
Anyway most of you know how I feel when people post stuff like this without any contact info or a phony name..mine's right up top...
