Great job getting pounded in D1 and the college division ECHRA!

Did you happen to see either of the games, or are you just spitting useless babble out from the seat of your pants?

I'm a very realistic person. I'll be the first to admit that we could have done better out there, especially with a 0-6 loss to start the weekend off. However, if you were there, and you did do your homework, you'd see that we had a lead very late in the game against the Snipers, and a lead on Dry Ice twice in the game... Pounded, you say? I say not bad for a team thrown together as late as the week before we arrived in Vegas...

I probably shouldn't have even graced your post with a response, but I'm amazed at how many ignorant people can be found in a league based on higher learning...

Winless is certainly a pounding. Perhaps your team and region should come back when they have the skill to at least make the finals or while playing in D1, win a single game. Having leads means nothing. The final score is all that matters. If you win by ten goals or by default, winning is winning. Obviously your region could not do that very well.

I was right, I should not have justified your dribble with a response...

Bill, some people have nothing better to do. They suffer from self-esteem issues that force them to belittle other people in order to make themselves feel more worthwhile. We all know otherwise.

The ECRHA/Snipers game was very exciting, and but for taking two stupid penalties in a row resuting on a Mission 4on2, the Selects could easily have won. Who cares what the final tourney outcome was? Enjoy the hockey.

I would agree you are allowing the kids to compete and learn. Hopefully UNLV when we get back into the CRHL will be allowed to play in the college division at Winternationels.

John:

While at Winternationals, I talked to a gentleman by the name of Paul. Paul is an UNLV Roller Hockey Club alum and is looking to bring back the UNLV RHC through support of a "community board." Paul has my contact information and as soon as he contacts me or I find his contact information, I will send it your way. Maybe you already know Paul, but I thought the conversation between him and I would be a worthwhile mention.

Perhaps one day ECHRA will learn when not to run their mouths and actually show up on the court. Best region? Yeah right.

Huck I have already talked to him. HE wants to bring back UNLV roller hockey. We where going to try to get it so we can play in next years regular season but we may not be able to. But thanks for the info.

1. Before you decide to put us down, at least spell the MO's name correctly (it's ECRHA).

2. Bring out any other region's 'select' team against three of the top DI teams in the nation - Team Tour (essentially Lindenwood), the Snipers, and the Dry Ice Team - also make sure they have only one practice together, the morning of their first two games. I'm sure they'll fare a lot better than we did.

3. RIT was our one team in the semis - same as every other region (Cal Poly Pomona from Western, Michigan State from Midwest, U Central Florida from Southeast). Heck, three other MO's didn't have ANY teams make it that far.

I think we put in a good showing and are still one of the strongest regions in the country - RIT, Towson, and Altoona are solid some of our more solid teams, but it wasn't as if we sent #1-3 from our region, either. You can disagree if you like :)

Sorry Burke, but you gotta get your Cal Poly's straight. Cal Poly SLO made it to the semifinals and Cal Poly Pomona lost in the quarterfinals.

My bad - I wasn't at the semis, and had been told it was Pomona :) Misinformation. Sorry SLO!

Drex,
Do you even know who this kid is? I mean... is he a GOOD skater on MSU? In my experience the finer skaters in their leagues have learned that being modest and respectful is often more important that running your mouth and pouring out senseless dribble. Perhaps this fellow has yet to learn this lesson. Perhaps if he played in a league like the ECRHA, where he could learn important life lessons from positive role models he would have some respect for his fellow skater. But he goes to MSU, freezes his butt off half the year, and has nothing to cling to but the success of his team, who's success I doubt he makes a significant contribution to.

As for "the facts" We left for Vegas at noon on Jan. 15th, myself, and Chris Palmer were added to the team roster on the 11th, and had no idea who half you guys were until we had skated together for a couple games. So hanging with a team like the Snipers (who also played in the pro division) was an accomplishment in my opinion. But to the terrorist who started this thread... I suppose not.

He is the cancer that will ruin Roller Hockey.

For your information, this poster does not play on the Michigan State University Roller Hockey team. We do not allow our players to voice their opinions in ways such as these. This thread was not started by or in any direct relation to MSURHC.

Sorry for the mis-information, I made a wrongful assumption based on the title of the thread. But I'm glad MSU was quick to denounce the comments in this post, it says alot about their character.
