From the Buffalo Wings:

The Make-A-Wish Foundation has asked us to participate in a request that a business card from our company be sent to Craig Sheppard at the address below:

Craig Sheppard
c/o Make-A-Wish Foundation
30 Perimeter Center East
Atlanta, GA 30346

Craig is seven years old, and has a brain tumor. He has little time to live. He has contacted Make-A-Wish Foundation expressing his desire to have an entry in the Guinness Book of Records for the largest collection of business cards received by an individual. This is more difficult than it appears. He is allowed only ONE business card from each company.

We are excited to be part of Craig's wish list. Please submit one card from your business to the address above and retype this letter (on your company's letterhead) and send it to 20 companies of your choice. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE. Please join us and together we can make Craig's wish come true.

Thanks for your support.

As a father of a 2-1/2 year old boy (healthy and happy, so far), this is very difficult for me to type, as I'm sure any of you who have children can understand.

For the cost of a stamp and a few minutes of your time, you can help brighten the day of a dying child and those around him.

Hi Clark,

Thanks for letting us know. I always check out the Urban Legends Reference Pages, http://www.snopes2.com when something sounds like it could be too good to be true. Sorry you got caught, Benny. It happens to the best of us.

Sincerely,

It happened to more than just me. The Wings received the request via the Buffalo Bisons, the AAA baseball team on their official letterhead. They included about 10 pages from other companies that had participated.

Just wanted to add my opinion about how sad and pathetic it is for someone to try and do this. I also want to thank those who have warned us that this is a hoax.
