Hello,

This is Ted Butler in Lexington, KY and I would like to invite and your Hockey Organization to participate in our "Winter Golden Stick Tournament." The dates for this event are Saturday, February 1st and Sunday, February 2nd. We are working to make this as much fun as any of the National Tournaments, if not better. Look at what we will have:

-Minimum of 3 Games
-Two of the best ref's there are: Jim Dunham and Bill Cloutier(These guys do TORHS, NARCh, ECHO, USA Inline and Jim is the Chief Ref for the CRHL).
-Age Divisions: 8 and Under, 10 and Under, 12 and Under, 14 and Under, 17 and Under and Adult
-Awards for 1st and 2nd Place
-Several Prizes including at least 1, maybe 2 or 3 Easton Synergy Sticks, some Inline Hockey pants, wheels and some other stuff that kids really want!!!
-Each player will receive a Welcome kit with plenty of goodies in it. A couple of the goodies will be especially attractive to the parents as they will include very good Discount Coupons for some of Lexington's best restaurants.
-There is also a Host Hotel with a very good discount.
-A free ticket for each player for the ECHL game in Lexington the Friday night before the tournament starts (January 31st at 7:30pm). And yes, the Lexington Men-O-War are actually playing the Cincinnati Team!!! That is pretty funny how that worked out. At the ECHL game, there will be a time where all our kids will be recognized over the PA System which should be pretty cool. We'd love it if all the kids wore their team Jersey to the Men-O-War game. Of course, going to the game is optional but it really could be a lot of fun for the team. We will also provide a few tickets for parents that wish to go and chapperone their players. Just let me know how many you will need.
-We are looking into a Hole-In-One type of contest where some selected kids will get to shoot or throw or kick a ball into a hole for a grand prize. We are looking in the neighborhood of $5,000 to $10,000. This should be very exciting.
-The cost of this tournament is $375 and the deadline is Monday, January 20th. Sports Blast is also offering a $25 Early Bird Discount if your team is registered by Monday, January 13th.

I think I know most of you who are receiving this e-mail. Most of you know we have been trying to make the Lexington area a great place to come for a hockey tournament. The owners of Sports Blast are now 100% behind hockey so please help us make hockey tournaments in Lexington a great success. I hope you can tell we are working very hard to make this awesome!!!

You can Register Online or call me at (859) 552-8199. If you want to Register online, go to www.sportsblastlexington.com As of this minute, the registration form hasn't been completed but it will be up by tomorrow (Tuesday, January 7th).

Thank you for your time and I look forward to seeing you in a few weeks.

Best Wishes,

Ted Butler

What are the age divisions going to be? Obviously there will be youth age groups as you reference to kids, will there be an adult age group(s)?

Hey Ted, I was at your rink last spring for a tournament (i forget which one) but at that time you guys did not have a proshop. I just wanted to know in case if I can make it down there, if I will need to be stocked up on all the mischelanous items (tape, blades, a mouthguard which i never remember to bring but are required to wear :))

What skill level/division will the adult league be? I'm assuming an "open" division depending on the number of teams.

Assuming division is bronze/silver.....if any teams need a player or players want to scrape together a team, let me know, I'd be interested in playing (just can't get a full team to come down there!)

I'm having trouble putting together a team or finding one to play for in the 17u division due to ice hockey commitments, if anyone needs a forward or knows a team who does and will be at the tournament email me at [email protected] Thanks.
