Hi Folks,
Here's the final update on Inline Hockey Central's jersey raffle to benefit Ben Hepp.
With the latest two donations from IHC readers (Anonymous, $250), (Jay Milton of the Coastal Cup, $50), along with Inline Hockey Central's contribution of $155, we've come up with a grand total of $800.
My deepest thanks to everyone who contributed:
Dena Pantazi, Chad Spezia, Tyler Spezia, Alyssa Spezia, LetsRoll, Gary Griffaw, Colohockeydad, Missionhockey21, Ernie Neve of MLRH's Philadelphia Sting, the Buffalo Wings Roller Hockey, Rob Kordylewski of the Buffalo Roller Destruction, Gary Del Vecchio of USA Hockey InLine, Doug Jones of the Wayne Gretzky Roller Hockey Centers, David Ward, Bill Raue of Major League Roller Hockey, Joe Arnstein and Graeme Davis of PickupHockey.net, John Grote, Patty Twogood of Topcat Hockey, Michael Hernbrott, Anonymous, and Jay Milton.
I put everyone's name in a helmet and, last night, drew the winning name. It belonged to Benny Gulakiw of the Buffalo Wings, one of the several raffle-ticket purchasers who had asked that if he won, the prize -- a Roller Hockey International Montreal Roadrunners' jersey -- be given to Ben Hepp himself. I think that's fantastic, and I hope that you do, too.
Next, I hope that Federal Express will be able to get the jersey to Ben in time for Christmas. Additionally, a check for $800 will be mailed to Ben's parents, in hopes that it will pay for some of Ben's physical therapy, as he recovers from his brain-tumor surgery.
Again, my grateful thanks for everyone who helped out. Give yourselves all an extra personal Christmas present. You deserve it! /wtimages/icons/cool.gif
Sincerely,
